Help Me Make a Difference In Haiti!

The average child in the Haitian village of Thoman only eats every other day. The villagers constantly struggle with issues related to unclean water, lack of food, and lack of access to medical care.

God is using The Hope Center to change that.

Thoman is located up in the mountains, about a two-hour drive from Port-au-Prince. As a result, the people of Thoman live without any help from their government. This means that the people have no electricity, no good drinking water, and often no reliable housing. It is common for residents to walk over an hour to get drinking water, and none of the people of Thoman enjoy the benefits of basic medical care you and I take for granted.

But there is good news. An organization called “But God Ministries” is reshaping life for the village people of Thoman. The ministry of The Hope Center has captured the hearts of my mom and dad, who have traveled to Thoman to see first-hand God’s Kingdom come.

Now I have an opportunity September 6th-12th to join my parents and a team of over ten people to be both the hands of Christ and a mouthpiece for Christ - to aid the incredible physical need of the people of Thoman as we bring them the good news of Christ which satisfies our deepest spiritual need.

So will you help me go? God has already done AMAZING things in Thoman, and the momentum is strong. But I need your help as we seek prayer and raise funds for the trip. You guys have already shown incredible generosity in helping me raise the $1,900 for my part in the trip, which includes lodging, food, and interpreters and fund our medical, and evangelism efforts. But now I am aiming for the goal of $3,900 which will go toward feeding the starving families in light of the recent crop failure ($20 feeds a whole family for 2 weeks), and construction of a reliable house in the village while we are there.

The first photo below is from June 29, 2013. The second is from our partner taken at the beginning of July. Due to the drought there is no corn crop at all. This is why your support is so important!

Jesus said: “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me….Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me” (Mat. 25:35). Through your prayers and giving, together we can fulfill these words of Jesus. Will you join me?
