Corey's Fight Fund

As many of you are aware Corey Calvert was diagnosed with Head and Neck Squamous cell Carcinoma that started on his toungue and spread to his tonsils and lymph nodes. He has never been a smoker.  Corey started with one of many surgeries in August of 2017. He had a trach placed so he could breath and a G-Tube placed so he could get nutrition and not lose too much weight. He has not been able to eat since August and still has his feeding tube. Corey had parts of his toungue, tonsils and soft palate removed.   Corey then  underwent Chemo and radiation for 6 weeks. He aquired just about every side effect possible. Coreys esophogus was closed off do to the damage from radiation. He has trouble swallowing currently.  He aquired a staph infection in the Parotid gland and his blood. He also had a bout of pneumonia. Corey has been in and out of Loyola Hospital since August.    At 40 years old with a wife and 2 beautiful young girls you can see how this is heartbreaking to them first and to the rest of our family. We are asking for help due to the inability for Corey to return to work to his job on the Pipeline. Thank goodness his wife Tabitha, works fulltime and his parents have been helping them with bills. Throughout this struggle I have been wanting to do this but Corey wanted to figure it out himself. He contacted me this morning and asked me to go ahead that he wants to take the burden off of his wife and parents. He is ready for some help. Corey and Tabitha are lifes true love story. They have been together since they were 15 years old. She is his rock and he is her funny. Together they are a perfect balance. They have two girls Ella and Alle who make up their one of a kind family.  Your help will help them spend quality time together as a family with a little less burden of finances. Please,  dont mistake asking for help as Corey is giving up. He is not. I assure you that. His fight has just began. Trust me when I say he is here to enjoy his life. Love his family and kick cancers ass. He is not the giving up kind.  Please if you are in a situation to help another family out this is the one to help. If you cant help financially well wishes and prayers are welcomed. I will keep every one updated.  When Corey is feeling up to it we would also like to do a roller skating night as a fundraiser and family night. MARCH 2018 Corey is currently in the hospital at Edward in Naperville. He has been in and out of the hospital since August. Corey continues to have a feeding tube. He is currently on triple antibiotics to cure the staph infection in his blood. Due to the cancer in his lung and bones he is in a lot of pain. He is on oxygen to help with his breathing. Corey told me last night the oncologist told him the cancer is spreading fast and Right now he isn't able to do any treatment because he is too sick with the staph infection. PLEASE pray, think of him often, do whatever you do to help. It's all appreciated. Corey does not have life insurance which my hopes are that is not the plan here. I am staying positive that these donations are to help with the daily travel, insurance deductibles, loss of work and keeping up with bills. Nothing is too small and together we can help a great family.
