Contribuer au développement sportif de hockey- Anthony-James

Bonjour, je m'appel Anthony-James Bailey. Je suis un étudiant-athlète de 17 ans de Drummondville, et le hockey est ma plus grande passion.

Avec l'aide de ma mère, j'ai créer cette collecte de fonds pour m'aider à couvrir une partie de mes frais d'études et d'équipe dans une école préparatoire privé de hockey, Okanagan Hockey Ontario. C'est très dispendieux et j'ai besoin d'aide financière pour soutenir mon rêve.

Mais avant tout, j'aimerais vous partager un peu de mon histoire....

Issu d’une famille monoparentale, ma mère ne voulait pas que je joue au hockey car c'est un sport qui demande beaucoup de sacrifices, autant en temps qu'en argent. Mais après des mois à essayer de la convaincre, elle m’a lancé un défi : si je lui prouvais que je le voulais vraiment, elle me laisserait jouer! Elle ne réalisait pas que j'étais pour réussir et que du haut de mes 10 ans, j’étais plus que déterminé!

Cet hiver-là, j’ai passé chaque jour sur la patinoire extérieure du quartier pour lui montrer mon engagement. Elle a tenue parole, et c’est là que tout a commencé!

J’ai commencé à jouer au hockey sur le tard, à 11 ans et depuis, je travaille fort pour progresser. J’ai d’abord appris par moi-même, puis j'ai gravi les échelons du Peewee C jusqu'au hockey scolaire Midget Division 1-Relève!

Au fil des ans, j’ai investi tous mes temps libres à me perfectionner. J'ai trouvé des entraîneurs privés et fait de multiples camps d'entrainements.

Mon travail a commencé à porter fruit l'année passé alors que je faisais parti du Midget BB, où j’ai été invité à participer à des Showcases réservés aux joueurs de calibre AA et plus. Un monde d'opportunités et de rêves s'ouvraient enfin à moi! J'apprenais dans la même période que j'avais réussi à me tailler une place dans le hockey scolaire Division 1-Relève auprès des Broncos de l'École Secondaire la Découverte à St-Léonard D'Aston. J'ai donc changé d'école pour me joindre aux Broncos et pour y terminer mes études secondaires . Je suis fier de dire que mon équipe s'est rendu aux Championnats Provinciaux grâce à notre travail d'équipe et notre performance durant la saison.

Tout le temps et les efforts que j’ai investis m’ont permis d’obtenir des invitations et des offres de différentes écoles privés dans la dernière année, et mon choix s’est arrêté sur Okanagan Hockey Ontario. Cela me permettra maintenant d’obtenir un deuxième diplôme d’études secondaires (secondaire 6/Grade 12) hors province, tout en poursuivant mon rêve de devenir joueur professionnel. Mais cela vient avec un coût et j'ai besoin du soutien de ma communauté pour m'aider à couvrir une portion des frais.

Je suis un joueur engagé, fiable, et toujours là pour mon équipe. Chaque dollar fera la différence pour m'aider dans mon cheminement sportif et un jour me rendre à jouer au hockey professionnel en Europe. Merci à chacun et chacune d'entre vous pour votre soutien!

My name is Anthony-James Bailey. I'm a 17-year-old student-athlete from Drummondville, and hockey is my biggest passion.

With my mother's help, I am raising funds to help cover some of my tuition and team fees at a private hockey Prep school, Okanagan Hockey Ontario. It's very expensive and I need financial help to support my dream.

But first, I'd like to share a little bit of my story with you....

Coming from a single-parent family, my mother didn't want me to play hockey because it's a sport that requires a lot of sacrifices, both in time and money. But after months of trying to convince her, she challenged me: if I proved to her that I really wanted to, she would let me play! She didn't realize that I was going to succeed, and at only 10 years old, I was more than determined!

That following winter, I spent every day on the neighbourhood's outdoor rink to show her my commitment. She kept her word, and that's where it all started!

I started playing hockey late, at 11 years old, and since then, I've been working hard to progress. At first, I self-taught and then worked my way up from Peewee C to Midget Division 1-Relève school hockey! Over the years, I have invested all my free time in perfecting myself. I found private trainers and did multiple training camps.

My work started to pay off last year while I was part of the Midget BB team, where I was invited to participate in Showcases reserved for players of AA calibre and above. A world of opportunities and dreams finally opened up to me!

I learned in the same period that I had managed to carve out a place for myself in a Division 1-Relève school hockey with the Broncos of École Secondaire la Découverte in St-Léonard D'Aston. So I changed schools to join the Broncos and finish high school there. I am proud to say that our team made it to the Provincial Championships thanks to our teamwork and performance during the season.

All the time and effort invested allowed me to get invitations and offers from different private schools during the last year, and my choice came down to Okanagan Hockey Ontario. This will allow me to obtain a second high school diploma (Secondary 6/Grade 12) out of province, while pursuing my dream of becoming a professional player. But it comes with a cost, and I need the support of my community to help cover a portion of the costs.

I'm a committed, reliable player, and always there for my team. Every dollar will make a difference in helping me on my athletic journey and one day getting to play professional hockey in Europe. Thank you to each of you for your support!
