Hey everyone! 

We wanted to update this page once again. 

As most know I am currently fighting stage 4         Melanoma of the lungs. Yesterday was my first    scan after I had started my treatment to see if it was working.  Unfortunately I had failed the treatment and it has spread all across my lungs. My cancer is now considered very rapid. With this type of Melanoma, it’s hard to treat quickly.

I have started a new set of medication that the Dr. feels optimistic about. We should hopefully see results in the next 3 weeks. 

Along with this comes the fluid around my lungs.It is caused by all the tumors inflammation and water retention. I have to have that drained now every 2 weeks. 

We live about three hours away from this hospital. The Dr is located in Santa Monica, and lodging is far out of our budget. We will now have to travel down every 2 weeks to monitor this medication and have my lung drained of fluid. While we do have insurance, they only cover so much.

We are praying for the best outcome!

PRICING BREAKDOWN ESTIMATE:

HOTEL: The average price per night for a for a hotel that is close to the Dr is $250

GAS: In California, gas prices average at about $4.79
per gallon.

MILEAGE: 310 miles round trip. We will have to make this drive several times a month now.

MEDICATIONS: Our insurance covers most of the medication but it’s a special prescription that will require $100 co pay.
