Hello beloved friends and family! ♥️

You have been such a blessing to Veronica’s heart! While I just want to say thank you for her to all who have supported her this far, I also want to let you know that Veronica still struggles to meet financial obligations since her husband Duffie’s passing.

It is taking longer to move than we first thought because she had to stop saving for the move, and replace her car which had completely stopped. She went 3 months with no transportation. Veronica had to sign another rent agreement in the meantime, so now her move is scheduled for September 2025.

I just wanted to give you an update. Despite what you see has been donated so far, the majority of that happened in early 2024, and had to cover owed medical, as well as living expenses. she is still trying to save for a move to a more affordable living situation.

Veronica continues to bless the daycare children, and puts one foot in front of the other. She misses Duffie fiercely.

Love and prayers and God’s blessings to all who are still keeping up with Veronica’s progress, and giving when you can!! Thank you!!
Sincerely,
Donna O’Neal

Hello dear friends and family!!

It has been a couple of months since you received an update on Veronica’s progress. I apologize. We have had a lot of activity this past couple of months.

Veronica’s son was finally able to help her find a car. She was without one for months, but now has a previously owned Jeep, a great vehicle for Missouri winters. The payments will be a bit steep, and she had to have it repaired right after purchase, but now all seems to be well.

Veronica has postponed her move to another apartment or house to September of 2025. She could not find a place to live where she could have a washer and dryer, and time ran out to sign her contract. So, this will give her more time to find a solid place to move without the rush.

If you could keep in your prayers that Veronica finds a 2 bedroom, with washer/dryer hookup, and a safe and convenient neighborhood that would be appreciated.

As of now Veronica is still working at the daycare with small children, and trying hard to save money. At this time she is in need of $1,000 for taxes, and another $500 would help her with the initial car expense. That is what the pressure is at this time.

I changed the goal amount for now because her move is postponed. Veronica does not want to take advantage of this opportunity for help.

We are so extremely grateful to all who find it in their hearts to help Veronica! She prays for all of you, and is so thankful for your giving hearts! Veronica continues to move ahead one day at a time. A little, or a lot, whatever you may be able to donate is appreciated!

Thank you, and may God continue to bless your lives in the most abundant ways in health and prosperity!! God bless you!! ♥️

November 21, 2024

Good morning family and friends! ♥️

Today marks one year since Veronica lost her beloved husband Duffie. It has been a somber day of sentiment for her as she works to move forward. Today she is working at the daycare. Veronica says the children are a comfort to her heart. She continues to be blessed by love from family and friends.

If love paid the bills, Veronica would be a wealthy woman. But…since that is not the case, we are asking for your compassionate hearts of giving again. We have not yet reached the financial goal set for Veronica to move, and replace her car. The first monies received went to medical and other household bills that had overwhelmed her during Duffie’s illness.

As I mentioned in the previous post, Veronica’s car has completely quit. She has now been without a vehicle for nearly 8 weeks. In this day and time it is very difficult to get by without transportation. We are asking that you continue to help us reach her goals for a car, and a safe place to move.

Sometimes folks just give cars away!? Sometimes they have compassion on those in need. Do you know anyone who is willing to get rid of their grandparent’s car? Or another vehicle they no longer need? That would be wonderful!

The move was put on hold because every place Veronica inquired about either required more money than she had to hold it, was too far from her work, not in a safe area, or would cause her to have to give up being able to do laundry in her home. When you are in your 70’s, where you live, and how close it is to family (and work) becomes more and more important.

If you are unable to give at this time, we certainly understand, and just ask that you will continue to keep Veronica and her situation in your prayers. If you are able to give, God bless you, we know God will reward your heart and compassion! And if all could share this post, that may help also!

God bless you! Veronica continues to be so thankful for you, your giving, your prayers. Keep a song in your heart! Today Veronica is listening to “Lovely Day” by Bill Withers. Duffie used to play this song every time Veronica got in his car when they were dating. ♥️

God bless you, and God bless your heart to help Veronica in her time of need!

October 10, 2024

Hello friends, family, all!

Veronica has been trying to find a suitable place to move that she can afford, but has not found one that will work for her yet. While Veronica is working at the daycare, downsizing, and searching for a place to move, her car has completely quit. She has been without transportation for 3 weeks now, and is in desperate need of a different vehicle. It has been one thing after another for Veronica since she lost her beloved husband Duffie.

We are humbly asking for donations for a car at this time. Moving had to be put on hold. Veronica’s car had cost her a small fortune this past year, and that coupled with her rent continues to be an obstacle in her endeavors to just catch up.

Thank you and God bless you for your contributions in the past. We are still working to get Veronica moved and in something dependable to drive. Anything helps, and Veronica continues to be thankful for your kindness and your generosity! May God bless your hearts of giving! ♥️

July 24, 2024…Update
Hi everyone! ❤️
I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your prayers and donations which have made a difference in my friend Veronica’s life. Veronica thanks you too for your prayers and donations as she continues to move forward after losing her beloved husband Duffie.
Veronica is still working to downsize her household as she plans to move, hopefully by fall of this year. She is going to need money for deposits and first month’s rent when she secures a smaller apartment. She also has a need for $727.70 for car repair, as well as need for new tires (about $700-750). Veronica does ok until something unexpected arises. Because she has no emergency fund, issues like car repairs and new tires can wipe her out for the month. Veronica is working to get over the hump of present and upcoming expenses!
Some may have previously donated, and think my updates are redundant, but Veronica is still struggling to make ends meet!?
I thank you for your previous donations, and am asking if all who can would send $20 to help Veronica get her car repaired, and get moved! If you are unable to donate, please continue to keep Veronica in your prayers. We would also appreciate it if you could share this fundraiser with your friends. God bless you and thank you! You are the best! ❤️

June 2, 2024
Hello friends and family of Veronica and our beloved Duffie!! ♥️ Everyone who knew Duffie is missing him, especially his beautiful wife, Veronica.
Here we are already in June! Time is flying! Since Duffie passed Veronica has been working diligently to downsize her household so she can move to a smaller apartment that she can afford alone. She is going to need about $2,000 to get utilities switched, and new apartment deposits made! It has been a challenge for her to try and adjust to one income. Veronica is now hoping to move In July.
Again, all of you awesome folks with giving hearts, we need another push to get
Mrs. Veronica Norman Duffie into that place she can afford on her own. Her biggest challenge with finances and moving (which is a challenge for all of us) is that she will have to change all
of her utilities to the new apartment, and start paying her rent at the first of the month instead of when she gets paid (which is the 2nd week of the month). So Veronica needs extra money to help her get through this challenge of moving, and changing the timing of her rent payments.
We humbly thank you for your generous donations, past and present, to help in Veronica’s time of need…whether it’s $10, $20, $25, $100, anything God puts on your heart that you can afford to share would be forever appreciated!
Prayers that God will bless you back abundantly in Jesus name!! ♥️
Veronica thanks you from the bottom of her heart!! God bless you!! ♥️

April 12, 2024 Update:
Hello Beloved friends and family of Veronica and Duffie!
Since Duffie’s passing, Veronica has been struggling to put one foot in front of the other. She has been attending a grief group to help her cope with the loss of her loving husband. Veronica is still working at the daycare. Some days she is doing well, some not so well as the grieving process continues.
The date for Veronica’s move has changed to the end of June. She got an extension of her lease because the move she was expecting to make did not go through. Veronica is in need of several thousand dollars for deposits, moving truck, bills, etc…all of the parts of a move.
Before Duffie passed, they paid their rent the first week of every month, as most renters do. When Duffie passed, Veronica lost his income, and had to make arrangements to pay her rent the 2nd week of each month, according to her pay schedule. So instead of paying $1,383/month, Veronica is forced to pay $1,383 + $75 late fee per month. For someone who is struggling financially already, this is over the top, but her rental company refuses to be flexible. She also has other bills she is trying to stay on top of.
Veronica and Duffie lived at the present apartment for 4 years. Veronica has been working tirelessly to go through her husband’s belongings and downsize so she can move into a more affordable situation.
Some of you may wonder how many times we will continue to send out requests for help? Well, as many times as it takes to help Veronica get moved and on top of her present situation. She will not be able to catch up with bills, or get into another apartment without more money than she is making.
We humbly ask you again, could you find it in your hearts to make another donation? Even if it is $10, $20, $25 it adds up! We’re not asking a couple of people for a lot of money, we are asking a lot of people for a little donation to help Veronica through this tough time. ❤️
It is important to Veronica that we continue updating, as she wants honesty in her situation, and her needs. We want to thank all who have donated so far. Your gifts and your hearts are appreciated beyond words!
God bless you abundantly, and thank you more than you can imagine! We pray for God to bless your giving hearts with His matchless grace and abundance! ❤️

January 4, 2024:
This lovely picture is Duffie and Veronica. We thought you might like to see who you have been helping during this time! Veronica is taking life a day at a time, and we are praying for a financial windfall to help her through April, when her lease is up and she is moving. God bless your beautiful giving and compassionate hearts! And we do pray for God to bless your lives back abundantly in Jesus name! ❤️

December 30, 2023 Update:
Blessed friends and family…
As you know, Veronica is grieving the loss of her beloved husband Duffie. Please keep her in your prayers. Her heart is hurting, and she is working through a lot of adjustments.

I am reminded of some of the lyrics of a song called “Oceans” by Hillsong
”Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You’ve never failed, and You won’t start now
So I will call upon your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours, and You are mine.”

Now is when Veronica is swimming in doubt, change and bills. I wish all of you could see how brave she has been so far. She is minus Duffie’s love and support, and is missing holding her husband’s hands and praying together daily. Veronica is also minus Duffie’s work income, and his social security will not be available until after a meeting in mid January. But she looks to God daily, and listens to Christian music to help her through. ❤️

In the mean time Veronica is still working at the Daycare, and trying to pay rent, as well as too many bills to name, aside from general living expenses. Her landlord is charging her late fees because rent will be paid 5 days later than usual, according to when Veronica gets paid. Her car needs a repair of about $150, and the medical bill list goes on.

I am asking again for financial compassion for Veronica for a couple more months until she can handle these monetary issues on her own. She really needs financial help through this time.

Veronica’s lease on the apartment is up in April, and she plans to make a move that will be more financially suitable to what she can cover. But for now, I am making a financial compassion plea for Veronica.

Thank you again for your hearts of giving! Your motivation to help in Veronica’s time of need for prayer and finances will be appreciated more than you could possibly know! God bless you, and may God bless you back ten-fold for your compassion! ❤️

Today: December 16, 2023
Hello blessed friends and family. Today will be Duffie’s celebration of life service at Devotional Baptist Church at 3 PM in Kenloch, MO. I thank you for your prayers during this time.
I also thank you for a heart of continued giving as Veronica faces the days to come. God bless you, each of you, for your hearts of caring and sharing, in Jesus name. ❤️

❤️ from VERONICA NORMAN DUFFIE
I want to take a moment to express the deep gratitude Duffie and I have felt with the love shown us with your generous donations. We know it is hard for everyone now, and dearly appreciate all friends, family, co-workers, and people who just had the compassion to give!
I had to say good-bye to my beloved husband this morning, but I know he wants each of you to know the gratitude he felt towards your beautiful hearts. While I will miss my husband forever, I know his spirit is with God, and my Duffie is no longer experiencing pain. As the lymphoma spread, the pain increased, and after 8 long months his body just got tired. As it says in II Timothy 4:7 Duffie “fought a good fight, finished his course, and kept the faith.”
As I move forward, I would like to honor my husband with a beautiful memorial service, and with tears of joy I thank all who will help me give this final gift to him. In the days to follow I will be sorting through final bills from the rehab, hospital, and Doctors.
May God bless each of your hearts back ten-fold for all you have given in love. My heart is thankful for you all.
Sincerely, Veronica Norman Duffie ❤️

UPDATE: November 21, 2023
It is with a heavy heart that I update you today. Duffie passed from this world this morning at 8:15 AM. Veronica is beyond words at this time.
Memorial services will be a financial burden for her as there is no insurance. While her mind is reeling over the news, I pray that we can ask all beloved donors and friends to share, or tell others who can share towards these final arrangements and medical bills.
May God continue to bless back your hearts of love and giving! ❤️
While I have no information as to final arrangements or memorial service at this time, I will continue to update you as I find out.
God bless you! Veronica would probably tell you to hug your loved ones today, and let them know you love them. Time is precious. Keep God in your hearts and minds. And please keep Veronica in your prayers!

~ANOTHER UPDATE 11/13/2023
Hello friends and faithful loved ones! I regret to inform you today that Duffie has had a major setback. Week before last while in rehab, his blood count dropped very low and he was very dehydrated. He was taken back to the ER at DePaul Hospital on St. Charles Rock Road. Dr.s did not like what they found. He is back to square one it seems. After months in rehab, and tubes for feeding and kidneys removed, they found it necessary to put all tubes back in. Duffie’s cancer Dr. has discovered a spread of lymphoma also.
I cannot start to imagine how 8 months in hospitals and rehab must frustrate the mind, but Duffie keeps surprising everyone with his fight! I have no doubt this will be the same continuation of healing.
In the meantime, what I do know is bills are mounting every day. Veronica is still working at the daycare and is unable to be with her husband as much as she would like. I am asking for a push in donations again that could possibly afford Veronica some time off to spend with her loving husband during this setback.
Thank you in advance for your hearts of love!! Every amount is appreciated more than you can imagine. To those who have donated more than once, may God continue to bless you back ten-fold for your expressions of love and heart towards Duffie and Veronica!
Please keep the prayers coming!! This is nothing for God!! Prayer and praise change things!! Thank God for His faithfulness to His Word!! ❤️

~NEW UPDATE 9/27/23
Thank you for continuing this road to healing with Veronica and Duffie!! Duffie’s rehab has finally begun! After months in the hospital, and varied phases of recovery, Duffie is now ready for physical therapy in rehab. He has been pushing through unbearable pain to make progress.
It is now going on 7 months since this challenge began. It is going on 7 months since Duffie has been able to enjoy the comforts of being at home with his wife. It has been nearly 7 months of Dr’s, tests, hospitals, and rehabs. They are also seeing miracle after miracle from God on this journey, and the beautiful hearts of people like you!
As Duffie is tackling rehab, Veronica is still swimming upstream to try and attack the mounting bills. At this time there is a pressing need for at least $500, just to get them through this month. She is having to decide what can get paid, and what will remain unpaid for now.
Veronica and Duffie are so so thankful for every dollar they have received so far! At this time we humbly ask you to look at the possibility of donating a 2nd time, and continuing to share this site with friends who have not yet had an opportunity to help this couple on their path to victory for Duffie!
Words nor tears can express the gratitude and love Duffie and Veronica have experienced so far, but their road is still long. Thank you for your hearts of giving!! And if financial assistance is not available, please share this Go Fund Me page with others who have not yet heard. Thank you! ❤️

UPDATE 8/14/2023
Ok! Thank you for all donations so far!! Your hearts of giving are so appreciated! At this time Duffie is continuing therapy, and after 5 1/2 months, the financial needs are still great. Please share this with friends and family who may be able to help! The money is going to be used for continued therapy (anything not covered by insurance), and household expenses, and car repairs!! Therapy has been slow and painful, and Duffie has lost so much muscle tone that must be rebuilt so he can get around on his own again.
God bless you!! Thank you!! Let’s continue this journey and bring Duffie home!! ❤️

Hi, my name is Donna and I’m still fundraising for dear friends Duffie and Veronica! There have been several transitions since the beginning of this journey!

In the beginning (March 2023) Duffie collapsed and was taken to the hospital. It was discovered he was in kidney failure. As the days passed, the Dr.’s also found lymphoma, and a blood infection.

Duffie was enduring long hours of kidney dialysis, and was so very sick. BUT GOD!!
Now with a lot of prayers, and approaching month 4, Duffie’s kidneys are miraculously working!! Hallelujah!! Praises to God!! And a shout out to all of Duffie’s Dr.s and Nurses!!

Duffie was moved to rehab, and after a couple of weeks in rehab, had to go back to the hospital (Barnes Jewish) to continue treatment for the blood infection, and low potassium. Duffie remains steadfast in his faith to be healed!!

However, the hospital and Dr bills are pouring in, and Veronica fights to keep her head above water financially. She is so thankful and so blessed for the help she has received so far. Her job at the daycare is barely taking care of rent and household expenses.

The first medical bill is over $5,000. So we are asking please for people to generously open their hearts and help them get through this financial hardship.

Thank you in advance for your hearts of love! And thank you so much to those who have previously made donations! May God multiply your gift back to you ten-fold!! ❤️
