Continuare a esplorare, diventando un po' robot.
Una storia iniziata tra amore e orecchie giganti.
Piacere di incrociarti, anche solo virtualmente. Siamo Matteo e Lyudmyla, 29 e 30 anni, e abbiamo capito che saremmo stati compagni per la vita dal dicembre 2018. È dal febbraio 2021, poi, che l’amore si è esteso follemente anche verso il buffo signorino che vedete tra di noi: Chris.
Chris è entrato nella nostra vita perché sentivamo la necessità di circondare d’amore e attenzioni anche un animaletto nato un po’ meno fortunato degli altri. Una ricerca durata poco, perché quando lo abbiamo visto scorrazzare goffamente in un canile a nord di Roma, con il suo occhietto verde, le orecchione un po’ storte, il cuore ballerino, e un futuro di combattimenti clandestini fortunatamente evitato grazie al sequestro da parte del canile, ci ha travolti in un istante.
L’impegno, gli imprevisti e il 30 aprile.
Le giornate al suo fianco si sono riempite di un amore che non ci saremmo mai immaginati di poter raggiungere. Amore che speriamo di ricambiare a sufficienza scegliendo sempre il meglio per lui. Dall’addestramento in un centro specializzato alle crocchette più buone sul mercato.
Se sono state settimane e settimane ricche di gioia, come in ogni famiglia che si rispetti, non sono mancati però gli imprevisti. Imprevisti che per il nostro Chris, in quanto il più fragilino della cucciolata, avevamo già messo in conto. Come quando gli è stato attribuito un disturbo dell’attenzione, o ha dovuto subire il suo primo intervento con anestesia per un istiocitoma.
Uno, però, non era proprio prevedibile, e ha lasciato increduli anche i veterinari del centro specialistico in cui lo abbiamo portato frettolosamente il 30 aprile: una gravissima displasia bilaterale delle anche all’età di 5 mesi da operare d’urgenza.
Poco tempo, pochi fondi.
Un percorso particolarmente costoso e per il quale ci troviamo a dover raccogliere i fondi in pochissimo tempo. Dai suoi primi segnali d’allarme - ovvero quando ha iniziato a piangere giorno e notte e ad alzarsi a fatica - alla diagnosi del 30 aprile e la notizia dell’operazione, sono passate infatti meno di 2 settimane.
Ora, abbiamo solo 1 mese (il primo intervento è fissato il 27 maggio) per raccogliere il necessario ad affrontare quello che sarò un percorso lungo circa 5 mesi e che, proprio per la sua imprevedibilità, ad oggi non riusciamo a sostenere:
· € 7.600 per l’inserimento delle 2 protesi;
· € 300 per la sterilizzazione richiesta dal canile e dal centro specialistico;
· € 150 per l’ecocardio pre-intervento così da controllare ancora una volta il cuore ed evitare ulteriori urgenze sotto i ferri;
· € 400 per visite e radiografie post-operatorie (le due anche andranno operate necessariamente in momenti differenti);
· € 400 per la riabilitazione.
Se riusciste ad aiutarci a raccogliere la somma in questo lasso di tempo brevissimo, anche solo condividendo l’iniziativa o donando quel che potete, vi saremmo infinitamente grati di aver scelto di rientrare tra quelle persone che vogliono continuare a far esplorare il mondo al nostro piccolo Chris. Lo farebbe su delle zampe un po’ bioniche, ma sempre strappando un sorriso a chiunque lo incontri per strada.

A story that began between love and giant ears.
Nice to meet you, even if only virtually. We are Matteo and Lyudmyla, 29 and 30 years old, and we understood that we would be companions for life from December 2018. It’s from February 2021, then, that love has also expanded madly towards the funny little gentleman you see between us: Chris.
Chris entered our life because we felt the need to surround a puppy born a little less fortunate than the others with love and attention. A search that lasted shortly, because when we saw him running around awkwardly in a dog shelter in north of Rome, with his green eye, the slightly crooked earlobe, the dancing heart, and a future of clandestine fights luckily avoided thanks to the kidnapping by of the shelter’s volunteers , overwhelmed us in an instant.
The commitment, the unforeseen events and April 30th.
The days at his side were filled with a love that we never imagined we could reach. Love that we hope to sufficiently return by always choosing the best for him. From training in a specialized center to the best croquettes on the market.
If they have been weeks and weeks full of joy, come to every self-respecting family, but there was no shortage of unexpected events. Unforeseen events that for our Chris, as the most fragile of the litter, he had already taken into account. Like when he was attributed an attention disorder, or he had to undergo his first surgery with anesthesia for a histiocytoma.
One, however, was not exactly predictable, and even the veterinarians of the specialist center to which we hastily brought on April 30th have left incredulous: a very serious bilateral dysplasia of the hips at the age of 5 months to be operated on urgently.
Little time, little money.
A particularly expensive path and for which we find ourselves having to raise funds in a very short time. In fact, less than 2 weeks have passed from his first warning signs - that is, when he started crying day and night and struggling to get up - to the diagnosis of April 30 and the news of the operation.
Now, we only have 1 month (the first surgery is scheduled for May 27) to collect what is necessary to face what will be a journey of about 5 months and which, due to its unpredictability, we are unable to support today:
· € 7,600 for the insertion of the 2 prostheses;
· € 300 for the sterilization requested by the dog shelter and by the specialist center;
· € 150 for the pre-surgery echocardio so as to once again check the heart and avoid further emergencies during surgery;
· € 400 for post-operative visits and radiographs (the two hips will necessarily be operated at different times);
€ 400 for rehabilitation.
