Hi! I’m Connor Ellingson and this gofundme is essential towards my being able to accept the offer to study a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the world renowned Juilliard School in New York City before May 1 deadline. This has been my only plan, my plan a to z, since I can remember. It is an absolutely privilege to even have been given a callback, never mind the offer letter! I have worked so hard to get to this point & have had unwavering support from community, family & friends but…

I need your help to get to New York City.

Juilliard has awarded me a substantial scholarship that covers most of my tuition annually. In order to obtain a student visa, I must prove that I have the one year covered. That’s $88, 772USD. Investments (I have $30,000 in RESPs) and governement loans (I am eligible for $17,000/school year for AB loans and $300/week at school for Canada Student Loans) do not count! This is a major obstacle international students face.

What does count? Liquid assets (cash in bank account), corporate & private sponsorship, scholarships, grants, and gifts (ie letters of intention from grandparents, family or friends).

My mom & I are actively burning the candle at both ends searching and applying for scholarships, bursaries & grants and I have a letter prepared for corporate & private sponsors being sent to everywhere I can think to. I have applied for the Alberta Foundation of the Arts Grant of $18,000.
