Help Muscle Powered Connect Nevada Trails!

Calling outdoor enthusiasts: The trails vision for the Carson Range above Carson City needs your help to accelerate construction of two key trails that benefit local and long-haul users!


One of the perks about living in Carson City is our proximity to Lake Tahoe and its splendid trails network for hikers, bikers and equestrians. An off-road, single-track connecting Carson’s own robust trail system to our Jewel of the West yearns to be built, and the rocky splendor of Carson’s west-side foundation trails, crowned by Ash to Kings Trail, offers much to build upon. 

The effort to connect our Capital City to Lake Tahoe has already begun in earnest. The build focuses on two fronts: The Lincoln Bypass will provide non-motorized, off-road access to Ash to Kings Trail’s south end. The Capital to Tahoe Trail - a destination unto itself - will link A2K to the Tahoe Rim Trail. These trails will offer intra-city and regional connection, adventure, contact with nature, peeks into history, and routes for Epic Rides’ Carson City Off-Road bike races.

A lot has been accomplished in an amazingly short time, through the dedicated toil of a core group of volunteers. These two trails span more than 13 miles, and there’s much work yet to go, over rugged terrain and much of it with hand construction. Muscle Powered needs funds for mechanized trail building, bridges, signs, and more yet to come. This is where you - and anyone you envision joining you for fresh adventures - can help.
