Who I Am:
Hello, I'm Toene, the owner of That's Not Fair, London (TNF London), an independent children's clothing brand and shop; everything is created and produced in Hackney.
TNF London is a black-owned business and I take pride in bringing community together to create a network of diverse children and parents alike..
At TNF London, we believe in the power of youth, creativity, and community. We’re not just a shop; we’re a movement against disposable fashion, promoting a sustainable and mindful lifestyle.
What I'm Raising Funds For:
I'm raising funds for our Summer Sewing Camp 2024 and the Young Designers Day Fashion Show.
As we enter our second year of full time Summer School - we're excited to expand and enhance the offering.

Phase 2: 'Young Designers Day': Young people aged 16-18 will produce a fashion show, showcasing the Summer Camp children’s creations on the catwalk during London Fashion Week in September.

Why This Is Important to Me:
Sewing is more than just a practical skill; it's a means for self-expression and personal growth. TNF London aims to provide all children with the opportunity to develop confidence in creativity. We support the exploration of individuality through the art of sewing, and help them bring their unique ideas to life.
Why Funding Is Essential:
Financial means should not be a barrier to creativity for any Child. This programme is not fee-paying or profit-making.
It is an experience that will enrich the lives of those attending and the direct community as a result.
As the business is still recovering financially from Summer Sewing Camp 2023 funding shortfall we therefore we will not be able to offer sewing camp and fashion show this year without full funding in place.
Budget and how funds will be spent can be found here:

If we do not reach our financial target, camp will be deferred to 2025 allowing for a longer fundraising period.
The Team:
TNF London’s team includes fashion professionals ranging from recent LCF (London College of Fashion) graduates, working professionals and experienced pensioners, all carefully selected for their sewing skills, belief in social enterprise, and kindness with children.
I believe it is important to respect their passion and experience by paying them accordingly.
All of our technicians have valid DBS checks, with copies provided in the 'Parents Information' packs.
