The people of Lebang in Fontem, as part of the English speaking region of Cameroon, have been besieged by civil war since 2016. Of the more than 20 schools that existed in Lebang, Fontem prior to 2016, none is currently in existence. Children born at the start of the war who are now 5 years old have not had the opportunity to learn, read or write. Thousands of people have lost their lives, and many more have been displaced from their homes. Most regrettably, children have been deprived of formal education for over four years due to the insecurity in this region. While the nation and the world community continue to pray for dialogue between the different stakeholders to end the crisis, the Lebang Cultural and Development Organization (LECUDO)-USA has begun humanitarian efforts towards rebuilding the Lebang community of Cameroon. This year, LECUDO-USA hopes to build at least two community primary schools to take care of the educational needs of its displaced and out-of-school children. As Nelson Mandela once said "education is the most important tool that we can use to change the world." We count on your generous contribution towards this very important project. LECUDO-USA is a 501c, non-profit organization and your contributions are tax deductible. Please contribute generously, and share this link widely with family, friends, and colleagues. We thank you for your generosity.
