I originally started this fundraiser to help try and save my parents home, but since the rapid decline of my mother's health, the priorities have shifted. My mother Colleen Flores fell ill on January 2, 2017, the day after her 53rd birthday. She has been in the ICU ever since and the doctors have been struggling to get her back to normal. Her health has fluctuated from stable to gravely ill a few times since being admitted. The hospital informed me that with the duration that my mom has been in the hospital we are left with a few options. She will need to be transferred to a nursing facility with a skilled nursing staff that will provide continuing treatment in an attempt to return her back to normal. Which they had estimated would be a possible 6-8 months. I spoke with the nursing facility and they stated that they would require an upfront payment of 90 days at $500 dollars a day until medicare was approved. That equated to 45,000 dollars, which I don't even make in a year. The other option is to place my mom into a hospice facility where they will make her comfortable until she passes. One does not seem feasible and the other is not desireable which is why I am asking for help. I am usually not one to ask for help but I am out of options and desperately trying to save my mother.
