Colin's Cancer Surgery Fund
Spende geschützt
Hello Friends,
I am asking for your help today for a dear friend who is facing a life challenging health issue. His name is Hugh Collins, but most of you know him as Colin or Silent from Negril, JA. I have known Colin for over 35 years, meeting him thru his longtime profession as a driver in Negril, but also as a close and caring friend. His has always been the smiling face that I see each time I arrive in Jamaica.
As a family man, Colin is a loving, caring father of 5 with 3 grandchildren. Colin had worked for JUTA Tours for many years. He has chauffeured countless guests, throughout all of Jamaica, making good friends with many who have come to know him over the years. Colin was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes several years ago and has not been able to drive for the past few years. Now he watches his grandchildren while his children work.
Colin was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and needs to have surgery to remove his prostate, as it is growing larger. Hopefully, the surgery will help prevent the cancer from spreading to his bones. The tests that have led to the cancer diagnosis have cost him $1700.00 US. This has required many long trips to Savanna-la-Mar, Montego Bay and Kingston, which have not always been fruitful in the results. He must now take medication that is costing $180.00 US per month, until he has the surgery. The surgery itself, which will be in Montego Bay, will cost $4000.00 US and cannot be scheduled until he has the money to pay for it. Unfortunately, the situation in Jamaica prohibits Colin from having any insurance to help cover the expenses.
Those of you, who have been to Jamaica, will know that this is a great deal of money. It has been a struggle for Colin and his family to pay for the tests and transportation in order to get to his many appointments. They are in need to help pay for his medication, before and after the surgery, and the surgery itself. Anything that you can donate will be greatly appreciated. Please share this with any other friends who have visited Jamaica and may know Colin. Also, please share with this with anyone who would like to contribute and help a family in need.
We thank you in advance for whatever you can contribute toward this lifesaving surgery. No donation is too small, and Colin and his family will be grateful for anything. If you are unable to donate, your thoughts and prayers will be appreciated!
