Help Cody and Kari's Family Navigate Loss

We are devastated to have lost Cody Shamrock on Friday, June 14th, at the age of 31. Cody battled stage 4 liver cirrhosis for 20 months, but unexpectedly, he passed away just days before receiving a life-saving liver transplant.

Cody was admitted to the ICU in Valdosta, GA, on June 4th due to severe stomach pain. After being airlifted to Atlanta for advanced care, he regained consciousness and underwent several tests in preparation for a transplant. On June 11th, we spoke to his doctors, who planned to add him to the transplant list later that week, where he would likely receive a liver within the next few days. However, his condition rapidly and unexpectedly declined, and by Friday, multiple organ failures claimed his life.

Cody fought so hard, for so long, and was still trying to make us laugh until the very end. He was that rare type of person that would find humor in anything and wasn’t afraid to say something to make you laugh.

Cody leaves behind his loving wife Kari, and his four children, Ezreal (11), Ronan (6), Aiden (5), and Charlotte (3). He is also survived by his parents, Lonnie and Wendy, his siblings Jesse, Jake, Ashley, and many family members and friends who cherished him dearly.

In response to the many people asking how they can help, we have set up a GoFundMe to support Kari and the children during this incredibly challenging time.

Cody lived a modest life and silently faced financial challenges with grace and humility, never wanting to burden anyone. With Kari recently laid off and the family in urgent need of support, any donation, no matter how small, will be immensely helpful.

Kari and the children live in Georgia without any nearby family. To provide them with the long-term support they need, we are moving them to Illinois to be closer to family. We're helping Kari apply for unemployment, food stamps, and other resources, but it will take 30-45 days before any assistance arrives.
