This go fund me page has been set up for the ongoing Recovery and Rehabilitation for our 16 year old friend Cody Mackie who has recently had a push bike accident and been given an unimaginable diagnosis.

On Wednesday 20th April Cody was with friends on his push bike when he landed on his head and had no sensations of his body.

He was then airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital where he has and currently still in icu.  His injuries are extensive, he has broken his neck  which he had surgery that night to insert plates to correct.

He also had difficulty breathing and has since been put on a ventilator which he has now had a tracheotomy to allow him to try talk however due to his injuries he is unable too.

The doctors have since told Cody's parents there a 1% chance he will ever regain movement due to his injuries in his neck which have put a kink in his spinal cord.  This 1% will be our fighting hope for him to regain something in due course.

This news has come as a huge shock to his family who are still in disbelief.  His parents Rob & Danae have a local Hardware store in Bullsbrook who have been there for the local community through the good & the bad.

They have supported many local individuals & groups with fundraisers themselves over the years and helped out with any task big or small.

 

We want to give Cody the best chance for his long road to recovery whatever that may involve and we want to be able to support his family without any further stresses or worries.

Cody will need extensive ongoing medical care, modifications to his home once he is able to return, modified transport to include any medical equipment etc.  This fundraiser will assist in making these modifications happen for him.

 

This is a heartbreaking situation for any family to be in & we wish all the best for Cody and the Mackie family through this devastating time.
