Andy's Kidney Transplant

On April 12th Andy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney failure and rapidly progressed to stage 5 in the weeks to follow. Andy has been heavily involved in the East Jackson community assisting in the Trojan wrestling youth league, coaching middle school football and for the past few years he has been the assistant varsity wrestling coach. Andy is a 2000 graduate of Michigan Center. Andy has been employee of Brembo in Homer for the past 11 years.

A gracious nonrelative living donor who wishes to remain anonymous has been tested and approved to give Andy their kidney. Surgery will be performed at Henry Ford Detroit on October 18th. The living donor will be off work for a few weeks to recover from surgery and will be unable to work during that time. Andy will be off work many months for recovery. After surgery Andy will have to take immunosuppressive medications for the duration of his life.
