Cloud is our white Husky Shepard with a grey strip going down his back; we call it his silver lining. This story is about our Silver Lining; in May 2021 my girlfriend found an abused stray running around the park, matted, dirty, starving for food and love. She got out of the car and he made his way directly to her with his tongue out and just full of smiles. Carly looked at him and went straight to her phone, blowing me up with pictures while I'm at work (she knows I can't answer because I'm providing mental health services but she was so excited she couldn't help it). Carly said in all caps "I LOVE HIM" and next thing I knew I was driving two hours to brown county to meet a dog when I swore I wouldn't become attached to another and yet somehow he changed that in a heart-beat; this beautiful white dog emerged from the cage, running up to Carly, before he locked eyes with me and it was at that moment I knew that he was going to be my dog.

Fast forward a year and he became loved by everyone he met, a fan favorite in my small town of yellow springs "The white husky" everyone called him and he met all with a smile. He changed so much for us in a year and we never thought we'd have our own complete family until he arrived; I hadn't realized I could be any happier. Vacations, walks, cuddles, play time, he opened my world to it all and being with him has been the most happy I've ever been since Carly and I got together. With her and Cloud at my side, I felt myself becoming a kinder, gentler, and joy filled person. Cloud has made many friends over the years and even survived a surgery prior.

Two years in, we never thought that he would develop a tumor....the devastation we felt after learning this news, the amount of tears that fell from our cheeks, but Cloud continues to smile daily letting us know he isn't done yet so neither are we. We want to start a fundraiser to give our boy as much life as we can, to pay for his treatments, and any experimental study we can find to help him live the full life he never got a chance to have before meeting us.
