Claire's ABT Summer Intensive

Hello! My name is Claire Ashworth, I am 12, and I love ballet!

I recently auditioned for a place in a summer intensive program with American Ballet Theater, and in February, I found out I was accepted!



I started dancing when I was 3 years old--and for the past six years, I have been training in classical ballet with the goal of becoming a professional ballerina someday. In order to continue down that path, it is important for me to experience training from industry professionals like the staff at American Ballet Theater. It is an honor to get this chance to train with them!

The summer intensive I will be part of is at the University of California Irvine where I will stay in the dorms with the other dancers for three weeks. We will have classes all day--technique, pointe, character, jazz, modern, partnering and even a little bit of dance history.

The cost for all of this (training, room & board, flights, rental car, multiple pairs of pointe shoes and other ballet gear) is quite a bit more than my parents can cover on their own. Would you please consider making a donation to help sponsor me for this amazing opportunity? The tution of $1400 is due by May 1, then then my room and board costs are due by June 1. Beyond that, the extra funds will all go toward flights and other travel, accommodations for the family as they take me to Claifornia and back, ballet shoes & attire, and incidentals.

(As many of you know, my family is living in Germany as missionaries and we love reaching out to people here. My parents help lots of people by praying for them and seeing God heal them, by helping refugees with things like food and doctor visits as well as getting them connected with lawyers and other helpers as they start their new lives here...and so much more. We have seen many people changed by God's love.)

Because we are a missionary family, we have to do things a little differently than most people; and my dreams of ballet are something we always have to ask God to cover. We are very grateful for all of you who have prayed, encouraged and supported our family along this journey! And I am so thankful to each of you who continues to invest in my ballet dreams!
