Above is a video of my niece Sophia and I. I have been her primary caregiver from infancy to the present time along with her parents. Sophia is a beautiful happy 9-year-old girl with severe quadriplegia cerebral palsy and a smile and soul that will melt your heart.

  Cerebral palsy is a neurological disorder causing severe muscular disabilities such as immobility, limited communication, loss of controlled movement of her hands, and so much more. It’s hard to accept Sophia is trapped in her own body, yet she is not affected intellectually. We are all so blessed to know and love Sophia. She’s our angel. We are devoted to Sophia’s care and happiness.

   When Sophia travels, we are unable to currently bring her customized wheelchair with us in the van. Without it, she has to be pushed everywhere in a stroller much too small for a 9-year old, being lifted in and out each time. Sophia is unable to sit up on her own like you and I. It's important for Sophia to utilize her wheelchair in order to help improve her scoliosis, alleviate discomfort in her hips, not have to strain her neck upright to eat, be at eye level with other children, rest, and all the other things we take for granted.

   I have secured an agreement with Aero Mobility for a ramp conversion for $23,700. Unfortunately I was hit with more bad news that the conversion legally has to be installed before the miles on the van pass 40k. My van has over 32k miles so time is literally running out.

   I have exhausted financing, personal loans, and all other options to complete this. Our only hope is the graciousness and kindness of others. We pray you can find it in your heart to help this beautiful little girl be mobile as all of us take for granted each day as we feel our feet touch the ground to walk.
