Pasquale Cialfi Car Accident
On June 12th, 2022 our dad, Pasquale Cialfi got into a severe single vehicle rollover accident. He was ejected from the vehicle and endured blunt force trauma to the head. After the 911 call was made, he was transported by ambulance to Mercy One in Elkader and soon after, airlifted to the ICU at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics. After being in the ICU for some time, he was moved to the Department of Neurology. Overall, he ended up with 9 broken ribs, severe swelling, brain bleeding, speech impairment, and he is unable to move the left side of his body.
He has just been transferred to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids and is slowly recovering. He will be undergoing intensive rehab (speech, occupational, recreational, and physical therapy) in hopes of triggering the brain to move the left side of his body again. It was definitely quite the scare for our family hearing and seeing the results of the accident. The most important thing though is that he is alive and healing.
We have had numerous people reach out and ask what can be done to help. At this time, the biggest challenge for our family would be the medical expenses that have accrued during our dad's time at the hospitals. Know that we greatly appreciate any assistance at this time and thank everyone that has been checking in and supporting our family, especially our dad.
