Churro's Hemangiosarcoma Fight

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that I share the news about Churro.  Churro needed an emergency, life-saving splenectomy to remove a ruptured tumor and his spleen.  About a week later Churro was officially diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma (HSA).  HSA is an aggressive malignant cancer of the cells that line blood vessels.  It is a rapidly growing and highly invasive variety of cancer.  We've always stayed on top of all his routine vet visits and even had an ultrasound done less than 3 months ago with no sign of any tumor. To say that this caught us completely off guard is an understatement.

Churro is our happy 11 year old German Shepard/Lab Mix that was given the best nickname ever, Chuurrrriiiinnn.  We adopted him as a puppy from Atlanta by way of NJ and has called CT home ever since. He is truly the best companion we could have ever asked for.  Churro loves going on walks and sticking his head out the window, sometimes even on the highway!  He especially loves testing out his ninja acrobatic skills. Whether its jumping over some unsuspecting guest or rounding the couch like an obstacle course. Churro has a special squeeky toy that he's had since he was a puppy, Squeekum. He loves that little ball and whenever we take it out his true puppy nature comes out in full swing.

Churro has helped me personally through some very dark moments and now I want to help him FIGHT for his life. He is a strong pup and I know he has so many more adventures left to take.  Follow his #ChurroChronicles on Instagram where we will try and document all our hikes, cuddles and many naps.

We are asking for your help to cover some of the expenses we'll be incurring with his Hemangiosarcoma treatment. All donations will go towards Churro's chemotherapy treatments, medications, examinations, blood work, splenectomy surgery etc.  His emergency splenectomy cost over $6000.  He will need at least 6 Chemotherapy treatments and will be taking Metronomic Chemotherapy as well.  Both types of chemotherapy will cost about $6000.  We are currently looking at getting him on a Turkey Tail mushroom regiment to help boost his immunity and help combat the cancer.  We are also going to try and implement the "cancer diet " to help "starve" the cancer and boost Churro's energy.

Whatever you can donate will go a long way to helping us keep Churro happy and healthy -- and we appreciate anything you can do!
