UPDATE: Sadly, Chrissy passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 5:15 a.m. She died peacefully in my arms with her family around her. We are sitting in some heavy grief that will take a long time to heal. We are grateful to everyone who followed along this excruciating journey; for your prayers, donations and love. Many of you know our "Christmas Snow" or “Chrissy” as the sweet ray of light that came into our lives Christmas four years ago. Since that time she has shared her loving nature with so many people from Texas to California and in between. She’s a great little traveler and constant loyal companion. Her calm demeanor impresses everyone, especially for a chihuahua! When on a plane, flight attendants hold her up for the entire plane to see! At home, she is a fierce protector of her cat-sister Skywalker. She goes everywhere at home too; and of course we have to stop for all the kids (and some adults) to give her a cuddle. She is truly the most calm and loving pet we’ve ever experienced.

But now she is suffering from a rare metabolic disorder that is causing her brain to swell (encephalopathy). We are awaiting exact diagnosis and treatment options. Until those arrive (from the University of Pennsylvania) we have to just keep her stable. Up until, excluding one hospital stay, we've been able to care for her at home. However, now her conditional is critical and requires hospitalization. We have already spent just under $10,000 (now $11k) in the last month on her medical bills. We need help! There is a very good chance this is treatable and the brain damage possibly reversible! We will not give up hope as long as there is a chance. Please donate what you can and pass this on to everyone and anyone. Thank you.
