Chris Healing and Recovering

I want to change my life, and like most stories of recovering addicts, the road has been rough. After going through a near death experience in my first week of recovery, I knew that it was time to make a change. I have been clean from heroin for almost a year, and now I want step into my own power and learn how to be stable enough to help others. My ultimate goal is to be a substance abuse counselor, and to help people transform into their highest potential.  

I had a lifechanging experience when I attended a personal growth class called Liferesults. After taking the Liferesults basic class, my whole life became more vibrant and loving. I learned how to meditate and realized that what I did and who I was, was up to me. The tools that I learned at the Basic class got me through the deepest level of addiction. I was on the brink of death, and without the lessons I had learned from the class, I wouldn't have made it. 

I have longed to take the advanced Liferesults course, called the Inter Personal Intensive (or IPI for short), but never quite found the will to go. Part of it was lifestyle (being a bartender), part of it addiction, and part of it just not believing that I could love myself enough to spend a week learning how to accept who I am, and to heal the trauma I have experienced in my life. In this course, I would learn deeper forms of forgiveness, I would learn how to love the parts of myself that have sustained my addiction habits, and I would learn how to communicate effectively.

I have lost my way, but I am on the road to recovery. I am healing in many ways and I want to keep going. I am not yet in place where I can truly help others the way I want to, but I WANT TO. I want to be of service to the world, and to learn how to create the clarity that would allow me to do that.

I recently moved back to Virginia where I started bartending again. Two months ago, I was in a motorcycle accident, where my leg was broken in half. I took it as a sign that what I was doing was not what I was meant to be doing. Getting into this accident, and losing all of my savings on healing and housing myself and having to rely on others for support, has been one of the hardest lessons I have ever had to learn. 

I am ready to make a change, and I need your help. All of the money given to this gofundme will go directly to paying for my tuition and travel expenses to attend the advanced Liferesults course. If you are worried that this money will not be spent on the course, my sponsor and long time friend Tyler Dewey will be in charge of all of the funds to ensure that the money is used for the course. 

The course is five days long, where participants study their own patterns in life and how to make positive changes, and sustain positive changes for life.

I know that me going through this will benefit more people than just me. It will affect all of the people in life. It will make me stronger and more able to give back to the community that has for so long supported me through these last eight years. It will awaken the stability within me that has always been there. 

This will be a life changing experience. I hope to learn strength, and my gratitude will be immense for those who are able to support me. Thank you to all who have been there for me, and for all of those who have believed that there is good in this heart,  that it means to shine.
