Chilliwack Father Needs Life Saving Treatment
Shane and Laura are good friends of mine. I have known Laura for over 20 years and Shane for as long as they’ve been together. They just bought a house two months ago and between the both of them they have 5 children ages ranging from 5-18 years old. They are both amazing parents and even more they are just wonderful people. Neither of them have ever hesitated to help anyone in need. Now it’s them who need the help.
Last month Shane was hospitalized for 4 days due to severe back pain. It was found that he had cancer. Three weeks later, he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He did a round of radiation and it subsequently paralyzed him. Until his next PET Scan the doctors are not able to do any radiation or chemotherapy because his body simply shut down from it.
If nothing can be done with radiation or chemotherapy ( and that’s the way it’s looking) Shane’s only hope for prolonged life and remission (MIRACLES CAN HAPPEN!) is to continue care with the Integrated Health Clinic in Langley. The cost of the treatments are per cycle, and the cost per cycle is $6000-$8000. I’ve looked into the procedures myself and think they are a very viable option for Shane. Shane’s first appointment is on December 9th, 2020. With help he may be able to start treatments before Christmas.
In September, Shane was a thriving, working, loving father and spouse and in October he was wheelchair bound and relying on others for his day to day activities. This has been devastating for him and his whole family and he worries for his health and how to take care of them.
Laura is working full time, taking care of the children and going to the hospital every night once the little kids are in bed. She is exhausting herself and the last thing that she needs right now is to be worrying about how to pay for treatments, mortgage payments, trips back and forth to the hospital and Christmas gifts.
My hope is that the help that you can give will bring this deserving family a Christmas miracle. God bless and thank you for taking the time to help!
Sincerely, Tiffany Kosmas
