Since the end of the Second Artsakh War, the people of Artsakh are faced with new difficulties and are forced to cope with new reality:  Artsakh lost more than 70% if of the arable land, domesticated fowls have decreased by 48% while cattle-keeping have decreased by 43%.
 
One of the regions that has been significantly impacted by the war is Martuni. Many of the region’s inhabited areas are now only few hundred meters from the enemy posts. The Azerbaijan’s military has occupied much of arable land, thereby severely limiting the natural resources that once served as the only means of survival for these people. Despite the dire situation, the people of Martuni have remained steadfast and chose to stay in their houses.
 
Hence, it is of critical importance to assist the brave people of the Martuni region by providing them tools for self-sufficiency and help them stay in their indigenous lands despite the myriad of challenges and
 
The following project will help 200 families by providing each family with 25 chicks, totaling 5,000 chicks to the villages of Hatsi, Avdur, Myurishen, Kaghartsi, Paravatumb, and Nengi. The chicks will be hand delivered to each of the 6 villages by the end of March, 2021.
 
Why chicks?
Keeping chicken is relatively easier in contrast to other animals: it doesn’t require specialized food, doesn’t take up much space, and can provide an efficient source of nutrition for these families.
 
-       Each hen (female chicken) can lay between 200- 250 eggs per year
-       Will bring a mode of self-sufficiency to each of the 200 families.
-       Will bring about long term resources for nutritious food

-       For $37.5 you will secure 25 chicks for 1 family
