I have started teaching two groups of students, one on each side of the border between Panama and Costa Rica. The best players on the team from Finca Naranjo Colegio in Costa Rica are girls. They love to study and practice chess. Their principal , Cynthia Alvarado, is committed to helping them get to tournaments and went along as a chaperone to the Costa Rican Blitz Championships. She wants to go to the Pan American Chess Championships in Medellin to support her students. I have never had a principal go along to a chess tournament before. The group from Progreso is mostly boys but also has two very talented girls. We are trying to take 10 students ,possibly more, to Medellin Colombia from November 11 to the 18 to the Pan American Chess Championships. The parents and students are working hard to raise money and want to see their children go on this trip but they need your help. You support can make this happen. Thanks, Kevin Cripe
