Let's Send Abri to Camp Master Chef!

Dear Donor, Abri is an exceptional kid. I know everyone says that about their kid but considering everything he's been through and the positive attitude he maintains he is nothing short of inspiring. Abri loves to create. He finds creating things to be not only stimulating but a way to potentially make a positive mark in the world. Growing up with two older siblings Abri became especially close with his sister. One tragic night in 2013, she was in a car accident where she was at fault. She suffered through eight surgeries, immense emotional trauma, learning to walking again and ultimately time away. This was and has been an incredibly difficult time for our family. This is when we noticed that Abri sparked a passion for cooking. Any family gathering he knew of he threw himself into the art of creating with the soul intention of providing a full belly and bringing a genuine smile to peoples' faces with an "mmm" in response to his creations. Soon afterwards our family hit a financial drought. One income became none and we all pulled together to support one another. Once again Abri's art of cooking boiled to the surface. He managed to pick the bones of our pantry to create delicious meals for everyone to enjoy. Through perseverance and a optimistic perspective Abri took this speed bump in stride until we could become somewhat stable again. He whips eggs with a smile, cuts potatoes with determination and serves with a laugh. Why do I think Abri will benefit from this camp? Because cooking is part of his core - it is part of his joy - it is his coping mechanism and his mark on this world. Being able to learn the culinary art in a proper environment will help Abri achieve his passion and do wonders for his soul.
