Fundraiser to support Chaunda's babies Jordan & Toni
Donation protected
I am Chaunda's mom. Losing her has been extremely difficult so I asked my beautiful niece to start this fundraiser for my granddaughters, Jordan & Toni.
Here is an insert written by Chaunda's close friend and last Employer Loi:
There aren’t enough words to describe this incredible and kind woman, but we can attempt to try.
Chaunda LaShay Smith was LOVE.
That love radiated in everything she did: cooking delicious food at her restaurant, Ocean View Café on the California Coast, the activities she did at her most recent job (The Chalet of Montara-a retirement community) with her token “sweet grandparents” as she called them, her numerous friends and best of all, her family. Nothing lit her eyes up more than talking about her children Jordan & Toni, their accomplishments, their kind hearts and her mom Cathy, who continued to support tirelessly when Chaunda needed it most.
Chaunda was FUN, FUNNY and Passionate. She knew how to gather people and make it a fun shared experience. She hosted many an event at her Café’ that were not only enjoyable, but also forged a lot of new friendships. She knew how to create community, and was always inclusive and very supportive. Her razor-sharp wit elicited and guaranteed, belly-busting laughter with whoever she was interacting with. Her passion, YES PASSION, for Karaoke is only surpassed by her funny interpretations of her song choices, from Tina Turner to Tennessee Whiskey!
She was a very sweet, loving, warm and generous soul that welcomed everyone to participate in her life. Losing her is devastating and life-altering, especially to those closest to her. Yes, the stars shine dimmer, and Heaven indeed gained an angel. We are now left to continue life without her, our paths a little darker and our hopes momentarily diminished. We will honor her brief life and the great memories she shared with us, as she would have wanted: with a lot of love, easy smiles, fantastic food, lots of laughter and definitely funny karaoke songs.
Thank you to everyone who reached out during this very difficult time. It is truly amazing how many lives Chaunda has touched. She will be deeply missed. If you would like to support Chaunda’s children monetarily, please donate to her GoFundMe. Proceeds will go to her girls, Jordan and Toni and her Homegoing expenses. Every little bit counts. Thank you tremendously.
