Hi, my name is Dawn, and I am reaching out for help. I never imagined myself in this situation, but life has taken an unexpected and heartbreaking turn, and I have nowhere else to turn.
**A Life-Changing Crisis**
A few months ago, my eldest son, who struggles with severe autism and schizophrenia, pushed me down. That incident resulted in a broken knee and internal injuries, and my youngest son, who is only 10 years old, had to call 911. Due to my eldest son’s aggressive behaviors, he has since been removed from our home. While this was necessary for our safety, it has left me without an income. I was his full-time caregiver, earning $388 per week, and now I have no financial support.
Additionally, my home needs windows and doors that have been broken, and I simply don’t have the means to fix them.
**The Chase**
My youngest son, who is also autistic and has a serious heart condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, is terrified of what’s happening. He is scared of losing our home and being left homeless.
**My Current Situation**
Because of my injuries, I am unable to work. I am currently undergoing 6 to 12 weeks of physical therapy and may need surgery. I also need an MRI on my back to assess further damage. In addition to my physical limitations, I have been diagnosed with several medical conditions, including:
- Radiculopathy
- Paresthesia
- Agoraphobia with Panic Attacks
- Cerebellar Ataxia
- Musculoskeletal Disorder of the Neck
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Incoordination
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
I have sought help from state resources and various organizations, but unfortunately, none have been able to provide the assistance we desperately need.
