Charlo Greene - End the WAR ON US

Donation protected
I'm only asking for a dollar because this isn't about the money, it's about sending a message that we are no longer allowing the WAR ON US to continue without a fight.

ANY AND ALL DONATIONS WILL BE USED IN MY FIGHT FOR FREEDOM AND FAIRNESS.

I wrote this speech a few days after my home, which houses Alaska's only safe access point for medical marijuana patients, the Alaska Cannabis Club , was raided by police. Mind you, this raid came 17 years after we legalized medical marijuana and a month after we legalized recreational marijuana. The police had no right or reason to send a swat team into my home - except to try to make an example out of me. They failed and now its our turn:

There's a war being waged every single day claiming lives of good people and robbing hope from desperate communities.

They'd like to have us believe that the "war on drugs" is any thing but a war on you and me but as I stared down the barrel of a police officer's gun - they made it very clear that the war they're waging is one for power - over us.

On March 20, 2015 a battle in the war on drugs was waged in my own home.

Anonymous reports were all the anchorage police department needed to knock down my front door, put a gun in my face and rob me and the 8 medical marijuana card holders on site of our cannabis, computers and cars.

The officer had his hand on the trigger, as I, a law abiding citizen stared down the receiving end of an assault rifle my tax dollars paid for. And in that moment I thought, I've done everything right: in spite of growing up in poverty, I became the first of my 6 brothers and sisters to earn a college degree, I chose positive friends, I haven't had so much as a speeding ticket in the past few years, I've dedicated my life to healing our community - with cannabis ... and because of that I I have a gun in my face. Because of that I deserved to die?
A plant that has never killed anyone - is why my life and the lives of so many others deserve to be cut short?

They hoped this would stop us men and women brave enough to stand up and fight for what's right, especially when it's inconvenient.
They hoped to use this raid to make an example out us.

As I stand here a free woman - with more fight and faith than ever before - it's clear to see their plan backfired.
Now we are going to make an example out of them.

The war on drugs is a war on the people - and we are no longer content with being cast as victims in this fight. We are warriors for right - our army is growing every day with more mothers and fathers like Adam Koessler, who was jailed for using medical marijuana to try to save his daughters life, young people like Jacob Lavoro who faced life in prison for pot brownies and patients like Larry Harry of the Kettle Falls Five who are still facing federal charges for legally growing their own medical marijuana.

Is that justice?

We, freedom fighters, have something THEY  never will - real power.

A revolutionary once said, "Power in defense of freedom is greater than power in behalf of tyranny and oppression, because power, real power, comes from our conviction which produces action, uncompromising action."

The time is now to let them know that WE are not willing to compromise when it comes to our freedoms any longer.

But if we want to reclaim what is rightfully ours, our FREEDOM, we need more soldiers.

So the draft begins.

We have allowed our friends and family members to sit in silence while THEY jail, raid and terrorized us. That ends now. Silence, in the face of oppression only gives more power to the oppressor.

Force the fence-sitters to pick a side with the simple question: Do we deserve prison - or worse death over a plant?

Force them to choose whether they sit on THEIR side, or fight on ours.

It's time to end the war on the people that THEY have been dressing up as the  "war on drugs." And every time us freedom fighters share our truth, pick up a picket sign, attend a rally or run for office on behalf of liberty and freedom we strike at the heart of tyranny and get that much closer to winning.

Now, as far as my response to the Anchorage Police Department's failed scare tactic, we are preparing to file a lawsuit against every individual officer that participated in the raid, the chief of police, the judge that signed the baseless search warrant, and the state of Alaska for several million dollars - not for the money but to let them know, 'we ain't playing.'

And I'm considering running for Mayor of Anchorage to realign the broken policies that that keep our local rates of violence high because cops are too busy threatening to kill medical marijuana patients.

We, as cannabis users, want freedom by any means necessary.
We aren't sitting around and waiting for THEM to give it back.
We want freedom by any means necessary, and FUCK IT, we're taking it, NOW.
