Adjustable Wheelchair Seat for Dad

Hello...my name is Charlie and I started this GoFundMe campaign for my father Charlie Sr. who has been paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair for most of his life due to an unfortunate accident when he was younger.  With no use of his legs, my father has always kept a positive frame of mind and does whatever it takes to perform his everyday activities, relying solely on his arms to get around.  He has always been confined to a manual wheelchair that he would need to wheel himself when no one else would be around to assist him, however any adjustment or transfer out of his chair would cause tremendous wear and tear on his arms.  Over the years this strain has caused major damage to both of his rotator cuffs, which he was recently forced to have surgery on.  Unfortunately since my father relies solely on his arms to move around, the everyday wear and tear is making it more and more difficult to perform the simplest of tasks, including getting in and out of bed.  

We recently went to look into a new wheelchair that is completely power operated and covered by our insurance, however after going over all of the specifications we learned that the Power Elevated Adjustable Seat feature would not be covered by insurance and would cost an approximate $3000 additional out of pocket.  I was very surprised to learn that the insurance companies would think of this feature as a luxury and not include it with every other function of a power chair, we unfortunately had to decline this option as the amount is too great to cover.  While this feature would benefit him tremendously and allow him to lift himself out of his chair with the pressure taken off of his arms, I decided to launch this campaign to reach out for any help possible.  

Anything that you can give is extremely appreciated and you can rest assured knowing that it is going towards a much worthy cause.  Trust me, going from a manually operated wheelchair to one that is completely power operated is a huge upgrade...I just want my father to have everything he needs to be comfortable as he gets older and this functionality would be an enormous help! He is very reluctant to ask for help of any kind which makes every donation even that more special.
