GoFundMe Update

As most of you are aware on December 20th, 2016, Charlie Belloc Lowndes passed away after being in a coma for 12 days due to a fall.   Initially this fund was set up to help offset Charlie's medical bills as well as funds for his recovery.    Now we are re-focusing this fund to assist with Charlies funeral expenses and the care of his daughters Kiki and Hen.

Currently the service for Charlie is scheduled for Tuesday, January 3rd at Immaculate Conception/ St. Joesph in Chicago.  The time of the service as not been arranged yet but we believe it will be early afternoon.

Thank you for your support.  This is a sad time for all of us.

My name is Mark Pingry and I created this GoFundMe site to help a close dear friend, Charlie Belloc-Lowndes on the behalf of his family.

On Friday morning Charlie took a bad fall.  We believe that he must have lost his footing walking up the stairs as Kiki heard a crash and found Charlie at the bottom of the stairs. He must have fallen backwards and landed on his head.  His daughters Kiki and Henrietta who were with him worked in tandem to get him to the hospital.

Charlie was in/out of it but slowly it became apparent that things were getting worse.  A CT scan was done which showed bleeding in his brain.  Two hours later his symptoms worsened and another CT scan showed increased bleeding and swelling in his brain.  He was transferred to the surgical ICU (SICU) and a drain placed in his head to relieve the pressure.

Portia Belloc-Lowndes, Kiki Belloc-Lowndes and Henrietta Belloc-Lowndes are with Charlie at the hospital tending to his care.  Charlie remains in the SICU at Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital.  He is heavily sedated and not alert to anything going on around him.  The doctors have said this will be the case for the next number of days.  The doctors are still trying to reduce the swelling around the brain as well as the bleeding.  We have been told that there is brain damage but we do not know the extent of it yet.     The family is taking this day to day.

The funds raised here will help with immediate costs for his healthcare, transportation to rehabilitation and support services.

Charlie has been an independent Art dealer for years in Chicago.   He currently does not have health insurance and was working on his work visa so he could stay in the U.S. to be near his daughters.   Charlie has been dealing with recent health issues that has strained his financial situation and with this tragic event they are in dire need of our support

Update:  The funds raised here today will help in the short term providing his family financial support to help with expenses  relating to Charlie's care, funeral and other expenses.

Charlie is and will always be a dear friend to all of us! We have all benefited from his sense of humor and unfailing dedication.

We all want to help Charlie and his family and this is great way to help them through this difficult time now and to come.   For those that have contributed thank you from the bottoms of our hearts.
