The beauty of Fine Art is not immune to the Law of Opposites. While notions of “starving artists” may seem romantically alluring, the reality of it can be a far cry from beautiful. Funeral costs can be a heavy burden on any family. And tragedy struck the Tatossian Family not once, not twice, but three times in less than 5-yrs.
On Dec. 22, 2016, artist Charles Garo Tatossian, known for his show “Le Plaisir de Peindre” passed away to join his beloved wife and their son, artist, Armand Tatossian. However, his family is now left scrambling to raise enough funds to honor their father’s last wish- a traditional funeral.
Affectionately referred by some as the “Bob Ross” of French Canada, Garo’s show brought beauty into the living room of Canadians for almost two decades. Believing art should be accessible and unknown to most, Garo volunteered his time and talent and was never paid a cent for this show. Happily, he taught painting to thousands of art lovers throughout North America and Europe. Garo and his family also generously donated artworks to innumerable charitable organisations, throughout the years, without a shred of hesitation and always ready to help those in need. Garo selflessly brought so much beauty into this world. Help him cross over to the next with the dignity he deserves and let his family mourn with peace of mind. Le legs d’un artiste
La finesse des Beaux-Arts ne se soustrait pas à la dure réalité. Le concept d’ «artiste bohème» peut sembler séduisant par son romantisme, mais il en est tout autrement dans la vie de tous les jours. Le coût de funérailles peut constituer un fardeau pour toute famille, et la famille Tatossian a connu pas moins de trois décès en moins de cinq ans.
Le 22 décembre 2016, l’artiste Charles Garo Tatossian, que l’on connaît pour son émission « Le Plaisir de Peindre », est parti rejoindre son épouse bien-aimée et leur fils, Armand Tatossian, lui aussi artiste. Toutefois, leur famille fait maintenant des pieds et des mains afin de recueillir suffisamment de fonds pour honorer les derniers souhaits de leur père d’avoir des funérailles traditionnelles.
Charles Garo, que certains appelaient affectueusement le « Bob Ross » du Canada francophone, a, par son émission, enjolivé le quotidien des Canadiens pendant près de vingt ans. Et fait peu connu, c’est gratuitement qu’il a donné de son temps et de son talent dans cette émission, car il croyait en effet que l’art devait être accessible à tous. Il a ainsi enseigné à peindre à des milliers d’amateurs d’art en Amérique du Nord et en Europe. Toujours prêts à soutenir les gens dans le besoin, Garo et sa famille ont fait de généreux dons d’art à d’innombrables organismes de bienfaisance. Garo Tatossian a, de manière altruiste, apporté tant de beauté dans ce monde.
