Charlene Grace Goodwin (Timbo's Pizza)

Defying a diagnoses and fighting to live!

Dear friends of Charlene and Tim Goodwin (The Timbo's Pizza of Basalt family - Tim, Jessy, Jason, and Julian):

This wonderful family has given so much to the community in their support of organizations and causes for more than three decades, serving and donating the valley's best pizza, salads, lasagna, and desserts from their iconic location in Historic Downtown Basalt.

Char has been battling colon cancer for three years and has had surgeries and struggled, as it metastasized to her lungs, brains, and adrenal glands. Her medications have caused horrific side effects and further debilitated her weakend immune system. Doctors say the swelling on her brain has lessened her ability to continue the struggle and she may be very near the time to transition to the spirit world.

But she continues to battle each day with the love and support of her family. Having her loved ones around her provides comfort and inspiration.

They temporarily closed the restaurant to spend more time together as they mosy in the garden, reminisce, and enjoy family meals together. But, out of nec essity and the need for some small income, they have reopened for lunch, but it's not enough.

We are asking the community to come together, as this Valley has for others in the past, to help care for, and support, one of our own.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will be so greatly appreciated. Your loving prayers and positive thoughts will also send a message of strength to the family.
