Charity Squash Day
Donation protected
Hi my name is Michael Plumb and I am raising money for 2 charities by playing Squash continuously on Saturday 17th June at Holywell Leisure Centre from 8am until 4pm, playing anyone who wishes to be involved from family, friends, work colleagues and members of Holywell Squash Club, I will be on court the whole time with only a 5 minute break every hour for food/drink etc.
The first Charity I am raising funds for is Shine who are a charity that provide support for families with children who are born with Spina Bifida, which is a defect of the spine from birth that can have many complications throughout their lives. My Sister Jenny was born with this and was wheelchair bound all her life and never had any sensations in her legs amongs many other complications. Sadly my sister passed away last year, so would like to raise funds to help support other families going through a similar experience as we did as a family.
The second charity I am raising money for is Pancreatic Cancer UK. This cancer is very aggressive and sadly we lost my Father-in-law Steve to this disease last year only 10 weeks after diagnosis. Pancreatic Cancer is very hard to detect as it doesn't show symptoms in the early stages which can be stomach pains, unexpected weight loss, Jaundice amongst others, so would like to raise money to help fund further research into this cancer.
Any donations will be greatly received no matter how small and will be split 50/50 between the 2 Charities.
Many Thanks
Michael
