For the past year, Ramah alumni have been trying to get Ramah camps all across North America to commit to teaching their campers and staff about the occupation. Our efforts have been met with adamant refusal. So this year, we're trying something new.
We are organizing a speaker tour with Combatants for Peace. CFP is a group of both Israeli and Palestinian former combatants who have laid down their weapons, and committed to the belief that the cycle of violence can only be broken when Israelis and Palestinians join forces. Committed to joint nonviolence since its foundation, CFP works to both transform and resolve the conflict by ending Israeli occupation and all forms of violence between the two sides and building a peaceful future for both peoples.
We don't know if Ramah will allow these speakers to present at camp this summer. But we are committed to fundraising for these presenters, and sending them to speak at whichever Ramah camps say yes.
Can you help us educate an entire generation of Ramah campers and staff about the occupation?
