Celso Munoz - Salesforce Anywhere Donation Page

This past year has been one of the most challenging we have ever had to face. For many of us, the support of both Salesforce and specifically its people has been crucial in ensuring that at every necessary step along the way, the ‘new normal’ we now find ourselves in, is one we have navigated with a significant amount of internal support.

However, whilst dealing with a global pandemic has the been the top of mind health consideration for most of us this year, it’s been all to easy to forget that for many, the pandemic only represents one medical threat to our general wellbeing and millions of people throughout the world are still fighting their own very difficult battles on a daily basis.

Many of you will know either personally or professionally Celso Munoz who is one of our long-time Salesforce Anywhere AE’s based in Sydney, Australia. Last year Celso was diagnosed with Bone cancer in his leg and immediately began extensive treatment involving several rounds of chemotherapy and reconstructive surgery. Following this treatment, whilst significant progress was made on removing the cancerous cells and the rebuilding of his knee, Celso was recently informed that not only had his cancer returned in the upper part of his leg , it had also spread to his chest leading to more immediate surgery and very sadly, the complete amputation of his leg.

Personally, I couldn’t even begin to imagine the impact this has had on Celso and his family. As his fight continues, he has been prevented from doing the thing we all know and love in our vocation, creating customer success, building pipe and closing deals. As a result, he is now faced with making life changing adjustments to his home and family life, whilst continuing with his on-going treatment. This brings both an incredible amount of not just physical and emotional stress, but also financial. As we would expect, Salesforce are working closely with Celso in every-way possible to support him.

However, as a team, I believe there is more we can do. The Salesforce Anywhere team is special in both its people and its culture and I am asking this team to come together to support Celso in our own way. I have set up a GoFundMe page in Celso’s benefit and have set a target of $20,000 AUD (approx. $15,000 USD) which will primarily support the significant medical bills Celso is faced with on a monthly basis, plus the associated costs to the enforced life-style changes he is having to make.

If anyone would like to set-up a sponsored event to further our fund-raising opportunity please feel free to do so. I would love to see different ways in which we can raise money and personal donations are certainly not the only option available to us. Sponsored Walks, Run’s, Swim’s, Rides/Peloton’s would all be great ways to maximise our chances of reaching this target and helping Celso in our own small way.

Anything we can do, however big or small, I know is greatly appreciated by Celso and I thank you all in advance for any support you’re able to offer Celso and his family at this most difficult of times.
