Hey hey amigis I’m looking to elevate this journey and my life in a big way! Your invited to invest in this dream! In search of a SPRINTER VAN/RV to replace my 40 y/o vw rabbit pickup truck able to spread TRANS POC ALWAYS EAT FREE all over North America this year. Recently featured in the THEM Now Awrads and Bon Appetit’s QUEER IS FOOD feature, Gay4U’s work is being recognized and seen in the biggest ways yet! Nothing makes this journey more meaningful than to be able be in communities and nourish folks that wouldn’t be able to reach TPOCAEF or the work I have done for years. This new vessel will help Gay4U be able to get to much of North America, continue to inspire trans folks of color and all peoples to live authentically and spread transgenerational healing.
I’m currently taking a break from Gay4U being a restaurant in Oakland after two years of sustaining Gay4U without any PPE grants and having sold most of my belongings and car to make it work.
I’m asking for community support to take a much needed break to rest, refilling my cup, support of mental health, explore many interests.
Gay4U has grown beyond food and now is time to play, explore, and evolve beyond one single kitchen. I live by the creed “this is all a lucid dream” and want to share it with the world!
Having pushed and pushed thru the economic changes of the Bay Area for over a decade and thru the pandemic I believe Trans people deserve rest/ womxn of color deserve rest. I’m hoping to show it! Though I have a job lined up in Portland:)
Funds go towards
Replacing Yessica Rabbit as a vessel
Travel expenses
Any registration + repair + building
Running a restaurant during a pandemic and it’s taken a huge financial toll. One that I hope could bounce back but as the world opens up I need to open up myself to it and share in new ways thru video and contributing to other qtbipoc and queer spaces across the country.
This is an invitation for you to invest in me, my rest, and your exploration outside of Oakland.
Over the past 13 years in the bay I know I have given so much to this community in a myriad of ways and now I’m asking for community support me in a time of need.
