Celebrating the life of Bobby Quijano

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lauren and I'm Robert (Bobby) Quijano's daughter. I'm creating this fund with a heavy heart because my wonderful, amazing, supportive, loving dad has passed away.
We are beginning to plan his funeral and memorial service. Any amount of donation helps and we truly appreciate it.

My dad was the best father and my best friend. No matter how old I got, I was always his little girl. He would do anything for me and my mom. He was our protector, our entertainment, my number one supporter and most of all... our home. To everyone that knew him, his kindness and love shined bright!

Dad passed away Monday, September 13, 2021 from Covid.

I just got married and the week I was on my honeymoon, dad started feeling ill. My mom gave him ibuprofen and the next day he was telling her he felt better! A few days later he started to feel ill again and caught a fever. Mom told him to take a Covid test. It came back positive so they instantly went into quarantine mode. Mom was taking care of him and doing everything to make him feel better: Cold compress on his head, bringing him food and medicine etc.

It got to a point where he was having shortness of breath and told mom he wanted to go into the hospital. Mom wanted to make sure that's what he wanted and told him "Are you sure? We won't be able to visit you or see you!" Dad tried to toughen it out one more night. The next day it was really hard on him and mom knew she had to take him in. He packed all of his things and she looked at him saying "You're packing a lot. Do you think you'll be there long?"

Once they were at the hospital mom had to wheelchair dad in because his oxygen levels were too low to walk. They instantly took him into critical care.
For 2 weeks dad went through all the different levels of oxygen assistance and nothing was helping him to increase his oxygen levels on his own. We were told he needed to go on the ventilator. The doctor told him of all the risks/outcomes and he accepted them. He texted us that he was going to fight this! He knew God had him and he was ready to fight.

The 2nd day on the ventilator the doctor gave us an update saying dad's kidneys were failing. We were heartbroken. This was not the news we were expecting on just day 2 but we leaned on our faith and prayed dad would overcome it. From that point on it was putting small fires out. Getting better, another fire, getting better another fire...but each small victory our family saw hope! We knew he was fighting and we just kept envisioning him coming home.

Dad has been in the hospital for 29 days. The doctor told us 3x to start having the conversation about what we should do because dad was really really sick. We would get mad after ending the call thinking they were giving up and saying how he doesn't know our family and how many people are praying for him. The more my aunt, who's a nurse, explained to us what the doctor was saying the more we started to understand the seriousness of everything.

Throughout the time of dad being in the hospital we weren't allowed to see him physically but we were able to speak to him through the phone and hope he heard and we were able to have the nurse play his favorite music.

Sept. 13th, 2021 we decided that we no longer wanted his body to suffer here on earth. They finally let us go into his room to be with him. We were able to hug him, kiss him, and tell him HOW MUCH WE LOVE HIM.
Through our faith, we know he's with God and we find comfort in that. We know he’s with his mom, dad, brother and nephew along with all of our other family members in heaven.

Mom and I know you're looking after us dad and we love you so much. You are the best dad and husband... until we meet again.❤️
