My name is Bobby Ewing I am 29 years old and my mother and I have fallen on hard times due to my mother's constant battles with various types of cancer. It's very hard and humbling to even think about asking for a crowd funding page and ask for donations but at this point there's no other option.

I could go into detail about myself but this page isn't about me, it's about my mother, Catherine Ewing.  She has been diagnosed with Lynch Syndrome and it's a rare genetic condition that causes her body to produce cancer cells. From what I understand about it, she lacks certain chromosomes in her DNA and she is susubptable to cancer.

In 2006 my mother had several types of skin cancer, but nothing to bad and nothing to be concerned about.. Things started taking a turn for the worse in 2009 when she was diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer that had spread to the rest of the tissues in her Abdomen. She had to have a collectomy done as well as a hystorectomy, and they removed her lymph nodes in her abdomen.  She recovered from this surgery and was unable to perform her duties as an ER nurse so she began branching out doing travel assignments per diem and eventaully landed a job at Xerox to be a Case manager. The job was perfect for her because she could sit behind a desk and use her knowledge as a nurse to help people.  In 2013 she was diagnoed with Breast Cancer and given her history they performed a Masectomy and took all tissue in both breasts as well as the surrounding lymph nodes, she had to go through Chemotherapy for the first time and it was harsh and she was very ill from the treatments. I was living 100 miles away from her and driving up to take care of her 3 to 4 times a week and go back down to my place and go to my job as an X-Ray Technician. Things got so bad that she was unable to finish the Chemo. The doctors decided that she could take the risk of harming her body furhter with the chemo drugs or stop the treatments. She decided to stop the treatments because she was having extensive physical damage due to the Chemo. The tretment was worse than the disease. After months of surgeries and doctor appointments, she was eventually given a clean bill of health in October 2014. However being off work for so long left her without a job and the company she was working for used a loophole to get out of giving her job back to her, even though she was signed off by the doctors to go back to work. So she had to take odd jobs doing travel assignments again but this was too hard on her body and she eventually got the idea from her home health nurse to become a home health nurse herself! She applied and became a case manager for an awesome company and she could make her own hours and things were FINALLY LOOKING UP FOR ONCE!!!!!!!!  But sadly in September 2015 she got the news that she had growths in her Thyroid and they were more than likely cancerous and with her history they didn't want to take ANY chances, so they removed her entire thyroid and she had to take more than a month off work to do the surgery and the disability papers were NOT filed by the doctor office so she had no income for over 6 weeks. She just now got back to work in November 2015 but the lack of income has just devastated her and left these bills piling up. They eventually filed the paperwork but she ended up getting a fraction of what she should have been getting. All the while this is going on, the company she was working for was bought out by another company and her health insurance changed in the middle of it. Meaning the deductables were reset and now even just basic medications that she needs are HUNDREDS OF DOLLARDS.

I moved in with her this year to try and help out. I took a job at an amazing resturant and I love my coworkers and the manager staff has been amazing in doing everything they can to try and help me out  but no matter what I do, we just can't seem to get ahead. I can't say enough about them, they've gone out of their way to help me feel comfortable and have been on my side 100%. We have a guardian angel, my grandmother Bert who has been there from day 1 and has helped beyond anything I could have ever imagined... but her resources are stretched thin and she can't do much for us anymore...... Every dollar I make goes directly to her. Every dollar in tips goes right on her desk to help pay for these bills and medications but it's not nearly what we need to even break even right now.  I am picking up shifts on my days off, trying hard to stay late and work extra hours, and I'm working myself to the point of madness to no avail....... We are in desparate need of help right now. I can't keep this going..... She is back to work but the new company is restructuring their rates and she's barely able to cover rent with her entire paycheck.

We need a miracle and I hate to ask for help like this but I was advised by several people to start a page like this to see what happens.......... I pray that people will be able to help us not even get ahead I just want to break even and get caught up with these bills and medical costs.......

Let me end by saying one thing......I've never had to ask for money like this before. We've always found a way to make ends meet but now I think it's time to let go of pride and realize that we are in serious need of help. Nothing either of us can do could change this situation. We are in dire straights and a LOT of other people are in similar conditions as us right now that's why I hate complaining but we need help badly...... Trust me when I say this, nothing donated will be used on nonsense. The figure I came up directly represents how much money is needed to get us just to the point of stability again.
