"Caring for the Caregiver"....
“Because of Catherine’s Courage” provides financial assistance to the homes of family caregivers who care for a chronically or terminally ill family member in their home. We help them pay household bills, buy food and pay for home and car repairs. The things that they need to keep the household running while the family cares for their vulnerable loved one.
Family caregivers" - are “relatives, friends, or neighbors who provide assistance to a family member related to an underlying physical or mental disability, but who are unpaid for those services.”
This service is provided in memory of my mother Catherine Huell Carey who we cared for at home until she succumbed to the effects of Alzheimer's disease May 28, 2014. We were blessed to be financially and physically able to care for her at home during her battle with Alzheimer's, but our experience opened our eyes to how difficult being a family caregiver with limited resources can be. So we are here to "Care for the Caregiver"
