For the past two years, I have taken groups of middle school students to a 3 day trip to Catalina Island.  The school is located in Watts which is predominantly a working class community with limited financial resources in Los Angeles.  We want to take this special student field trip to Catalina Island this year.  We have usually fundraised enough each time but each year we go has become more difficult to get enough funds for our students.  I'm trying to not let money be a barrier in the education of these children.

Most of these students have never been away from home, been outside of the inner city, been on a boat or simply enjoyed nature outside of the city.  I have seen students grow and change positievly after coming back from the trip.  Students learn about ecology, geology, leadership skills and science skills.

Please help me continue taking these students on this trip that they will never forget and continue working hard to be successful in school.
