Cary's story started eleven months ago. He'd been dealing with some severe stomach pain. His doctor had him get some tests done. He had been impatiently waiting his results. He happened to get his results one day when he was on his way to work. His doctor called and said “Cary you need to go immediately to the hospital. Your Hemoglobin levels are dangerously low. You have to be checked into the hospital now.” So of course he went immediately to the hospital.
Once at the hospital, his Hemoglobin levels were immediately brought to a healthy level. Then a mass was discovered in Cary's Colon. He then had surgery performed to remove the Mass in his Colon. The surgery was successful and the Mass didn’t spread but was found to be Cancerous. The next step was to setup Chemotherapy. At the young age of then 49, (now a young 50) Cary was initially taken aback that he was "The guy with Cancer”. However, he made a decision that he was going to remain positive and victorious against Colon Cancer. He successfully finished a six month series of Aggressive Chemotherapy as of a few weeks ago. However, the severe stomach pain has been persistent and has not subsided. As a result his doctor ordered additional testing to be done. Through this it was discovered that a new Mass near his colon has emerged & it is growing in size. Surgery is scheduled on July 20th at Sparrow Hospital to remove the mass. Another series of Chemotherapy will follow.
Cary hasn't been able to work during his treatment and will not be able to return until his health is restored. As a result, he has medical expenses that are above and beyond what insurance will cover. Cary has faith in God and believes in the power of prayer. He remains grateful & appreciative by the continued positive thoughts and prayers from his friends & family. He has remained steadfast to his decision and has kept a realistic, positive, and motivated state of mind. This has assisted him in what will be his ultimate victory over Cancer and a soon to be clean bill of health!
