Hi, my name is Nichole Bonecutter, my husband Carl Bonecutter was diagnosed with Alfa1 anti-trypsin deficiency. This awful disease has completely destroyed his lungs to the point his only hope for survival is to have a lung transplant. This terrible illness has also affected his ability to work and perform daily tasks. He has been going to the Cleveland Clinic hospital and Kings Daughters hospital, to see if something could be done to help him with his quality of life unfortunately lung transplant is the only option. He has to raise a minimum of $20,000 dollars to be placed on a lung transplant list. This amount of money to be raised could potentially increase if we have to arrange personal flights with the hospital for him to be transplanted to get to Cleveland in a certain amount of time. They have also asked that we try to raise an additional $10,000 for anti rejection medication’s incase there is a problem with insurance, because these would be medication he would need to live the rest of his life. We have a fundraiser planned an trying to do what we can, but also know one event is not going to get us to our goal because this is such a large amount to get to in such a short amount of time. Anything anyone is willing to donate in any amount will be very much appreciated, an it would be wonderful to hit this goal as soon as possible to be placed on this list, because his doctors have given him a life expectancy of 2 to 5 years without doing anything. He also struggles with enlarged air sacs called gaint bullae’s that take over most of his lungs, only leaving him at 22% lung function. To be able to give him his life back would be the biggest blessing. Not being able to breathe affects his life in every way possible. This money is to be used to offset medical expenses during the transplant process and is also a requirement.
