At the age of 3 weeks old my brother Cameron was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma, cancer of the eye. After 3 years of treatment Cameron was left blind in one eye but Cancer Free! For 17 years we have fought for Cameron. 4 days ago we got the news that Cameron had an osteosarcoma in his right knee. We are devastated. We are confused. We are heartbroken. During those 17 years my mother was diagnosed with Lupus and has been battling a fight of her own with 8 broken vertebrae as well as her Lupus. We were already struggling both emotionally and financially when we got this news about Cameron. Cameron will be going in this week for tests to stage the cancer and get a small outpatient surgery to prep him for chemo. Wednesday and Thursday will be spend at CHLA for testing and Friday Cameron will be put to sleep for them to take a biopsy of his tumor and insert his port for chemo. Cameron will undergo 10 weeks of Chemo and then have surgery to remove his tumor. They will be removing part of his femur, and giving him a complete knee replacement. After surgery he will receive another 20 weeks of Chemo. Right now we need your prayers that the cancer is isolated to his knee. That would be the best news at this point. This page will be used for Cameron Updates as well as to show Cameron all of he support he has in the community. Please keep the Rogers Family and Cameron in your prayers. Thank you and God Bless.
We just found out that the cancer is also in Cameron's right lung. We have driven hospital 6 days this week. Any help is so helpful for food and gas.
