Caring for Norma: Strengthening Community Bonds

Norma Sheakley, a cherished provider of traditional foods for elders and those in need within our community, is in urgent need of our support. Over the past few years, Norma has faced significant health challenges, culminating in a recent medical emergency where she was medevaced to Sitka. There, doctors drained 1.8 liters of fluid from her abdomen and discovered her heart is only functioning at 15%.

Currently hospitalized, Norma awaits further evaluations and referrals to specialists. However, amidst this uncertainty, she requires financial assistance to prevent her health crisis from spiraling into a broader life crisis. Norma, a devoted mother to two teenagers, is deeply concerned about managing mounting bills while she's unable to work during treatment and recovery.
