Long term medical care for Blanca

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Allison Vega, Blanca’s daughter-in-law. I am joyfully married to Francis.

Who is Blanca?
Blanca Carcamo is an amazing woman, mother, grandmother, friend, cook, sewer, gardener.. and the list goes on. The love she has in her heart is so big and so obvious with her contagious smiles. She has two sons, Daniel and Francis, who both live in Murfreesboro with their families. She has three grandchildren and a fourth on the way.

What is the problem?
Blanca was rushed by ambulance to the emergency room in Murfreesboro, TN on the morning of Monday, December 12th. She was then airlifted to Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. She was in the hospital until January 18th. After being discharged, she now lives at her son's house and needs 24-hour care.

Unfortunately, Blanca doesn’t have health insurance to cover any of these medical costs and is unable to qualify for health insurance or any medical programs due to her immigration status.

Where is the money going and how will it be used?
There are recurring purchases for supplies (ex. diapers, wipes, creams, cleaning/bathing supplies) that need to be made to provide her adequate health care from home. Her medications cost roughly $100/month. Her physical therapy appointments are $90 each and are twice a week. Protein drinks are now around $100/month since she’s eating more. We estimate recurring medical expenses to be $1,500/month not including the costs of medical care (dr appointments). We have help until April 20 then Francis will no longer work so that he can help care for his mother. We are so thankful for family members that have been able to come to help.

We have also made an Amazon list that reflects what we need to purchase: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/7PK8MU6JTZ7N?ref_=wl_share

How else can you help?
We fully believe in the power of prayer. Blanca was asleep for almost three weeks before she first opened her eyes. We fervently prayed for a miracle and praised God for what we had faith He would do. She has woken up, is speaking, is breathing without a trach, and is eating without a feeding tube (peg). Please look at the updates portion to see the most updated prayer requests.

Thank you.
We have so much gratitude for everyone who has supported us financially during this time. We could not do this without your generosity. Every little bit goes such a long way in providing Blanca the medical care she needs and deserves. Much love from all of us!
