We are currently stranded in Somerset, Kentucky living out of our broken-down car after losing our apartment due to a chain of unexpected setbacks tied to transportation issues.
Our vehicle was the foundation of both of our jobs. When it started failing, everything began to fall apart. My fiancée lost her job because the car could no longer reliably make her commute, and shortly after we fell behind on rent and lost our housing. Since then, we have been living in our car while trying to stay stable and maintain at least one income.
Now the car has completely broken down. It barely moves and shuts off after about a mile of driving. I am now at serious risk of losing my job because I have no way to get to work. Without transportation, we have no way to maintain income or rebuild stability.
Right now, we are parked safely at Walmart in Somerset, KY, and we are down to our last $40.
We are asking for help to repair our vehicle or, if necessary, secure a reliable used replacement so I can keep working and we can begin rebuilding stability. Funds would go directly toward diagnostics, repairs, parts, or transportation replacement, as well as basic short-term needs while we recover.
Without transportation, I will likely lose my job within days, which would eliminate our only income source and make recovery extremely difficult.
Any support—no matter the amount—or even sharing this page means more than we can express. We are truly grateful for your time and kindness.
