When I first created this GoFundMe, my hope was simple: to save the only home my children have ever known.

I truly believed that if I worked hard enough, picked up extra shifts, built my social media platform, and accepted help when it was offered, I could buy out my ex-husband’s share of our home and keep my children in the place where they’ve grown up.

Unfortunately, as my divorce has progressed, it’s become clear that this is no longer an option.

Coming to terms with that has been one of the hardest parts of this entire journey.

Every box I packed, every room I decluttered, and every late night spent creating content was fueled by the hope that we could stay. Letting go of that dream has required a tremendous amount of grief, but I’ve also realized something important:

Home was never just a house.

Home is the love, safety, and stability that my children and I create together, wherever we are.

Because of that, I’ve made the decision to update this fundraiser. Instead of raising money to buy out the house, every donation will now go toward helping us rebuild after we sell our home.

Your generosity will help with the many expenses that come with starting over—moving costs, security deposits, furniture we may need to replace, setting up a new home, and creating a safe, stable place where my children can begin this next chapter with as much peace and normalcy as possible.

Throughout this process, I’ve continued working full-time as a nurse practitioner while documenting our decluttering and downsizing journey online. Sharing our story has never been easy, but I hoped that if being vulnerable could help us rebuild—and maybe help someone else feel less alone—then it would be worth it.
