Support for Marion Soignier during Cancer

Donation protected
Hi there.

I've gone back and forth on whether to make one of these, but the reality is that it's going to be needed, so here's what's happening:

See, this beautiful, amazing, young woman in this picture with two kids? That's my little sister. Her name is Marion. A few months ago, we got the wonderful news that she was pregnant with a little boy, followed by the horrific news that she has Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.

Cancer of the Breast, with "satellite" masses and lymph node infections.

While pregnant. Yep. It's exactly as scary as it sounds.

I went to her appointment at the Oschner Cancer Center and listened to them describe the effects of chemo, and what the next year would be like.

"Horrible, but hang in there."

She starts chemo this week, on Thursday. They are starting her with a chemotherapy nicknamed "The Red Devil". She's going to lose her hair. She's going to be sick. She's going to have to isolate from her two children, Krystan (age 12) and Leah (age 7). She's going to need so much help. She's just starting the first of many year long+ treatments that include different chemotherapies, back to back surgeries (she has already had the first on her ovary and fallopian tube at the end of December), radiation therapy, hormonal medicines, and more.

And it's going to last well over a year. Of no work. Of illness. Of fighting. It'll be the entirety of her 35th year, to be exact.

You guys. Even her baby has an oncologist. Before even being born.

So, I'm going to put this out in the world and do the vulnerable work of asking for help on her behalf, because we are all sinking over here, all overwhelmed, all hurting, and it's a lot on us all, and help would be amazing tbh.

Cancer is effing horrible. Check your boobs. Get your mammograms.

If you can donate, please do. We have to get her through the year financially as well as spiritually, mentally, and physically. We want her to come out whole, and to be able to just concentrate on her wellness, and creating as healthy of an internal environment as she can for her baby, due in April (a little early due to the chemo). I don't want her to have to worry about housing, food, supporting her children, or anything else that's money related. She needs to just rest and work on being healthy.

What else can I say? Would you like to know how much she means to me? She means everything to me. She's been my best friend throughout my life and we are closer now than we have ever been, and she deserves every ounce of sweetness life can possibly throw at her, at all times, not just now. But especially now! Especially now. She's the sweetest human you can ever meet and an amazing mom, and her girls also deserve security and to worry as little as possible as she goes through this.

With Love (and a lot of hope!)
Jen Drinkard (big sister)
