Camp Menorah needs your help.
Thousands of children from 25 cities and towns across the North Shore of Boston have benefited from the cultural and recreational experience at Camp Menorah for decades. Lifelong friendships have been made. Chances are that you or someone you know fondly remembers a summer spent at Lake Chebacco in Essex, Mass.
For the last 10 years since being saved from imminent closure by a group of dedicated volunteers and parents, Camp Menorah has been self-supporting. Yet, no child has been turned away from camp because of financial need. It has been challenging to continue to offer an exciting summer program while still remaining competitively priced. Specifically, as transportation costs continued to rise, we have always subsidized rather than pass on the full cost of the bus to camp families, but now this has created a shortage. This shortfall jeopardizes a program that has been an integral fixture on the North Shore for over 100 years.
A key group of leaders have organized an urgent campaign to raise funds to ensure that Camp Menorah can continue for years to come.
We have been given a CHALLENGE GRANT which will give us $2500 if we collect $10,000 in tax-deductible donations by the end of September. Donations of any amount are welcomed and needed. 100% of all donations will go directly to Camp Menorah.
